Blue Poet Tree episodes
- Ep. 76: Why I Wrote The Song ‘I Need A Peace Of Change’Originally a very short poem, “I Need A Peace Of Change” By Quindell Evans is a song of hope. The title is a play on words as ‘piece’ is spelled ‘peace’ on purpose. And change is used in the context of making a difference not as a form of currency. That’s what this song is hoping for...change. The song doesn’t lose its poetic essence because Quindell sings and recites poetry interchangeably in the song making it a one of a kind listen. Check out Episode 76 of The Blue Poet Tree Podcast to listen to the song and find out more of the backstory of it.BluePoetTree.comFollow Quindell at: http://instagram.com/bluepoettreeYoutube: http://youtube.com/humanclackinboy?sub_confirmation=1Support The Blue Poet Tree Podcast CashApp: $BluePoetTreeGive Your Feedback About The Podcast: https://goo.gl/forms/w0YQDTNzEwjly9gB2Listen to Quindell’s music at: Apple Music: itunes.apple.com/us/artist/quindell-evans/id949937852Google Play: play.google.com/store/music/artist?id=An5yefgmz7shxh65qbmogk3xbteSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/4C9aYu7Wb1wet1y9vpzXKeTidal: https://tidal.com/artist/6342127Listen to The Blue Poet Tree Podcast:Apple: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/blue-poet-tree/id1436190158?mt=2&uo=4Google: https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cHM6Ly9hbmNob3IuZm0vcy82Y2M4ZTA4L3BvZGNhc3QvcnNzSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0PH07Vkz8D584t5iTAOK4PBreaker: https://www.breaker.audio/blue-poet-tree-1Castbox: https://castbox.fm/channel/id1444808Overcast: https://overcast.fm/itunes1436190158/blue-poet-treePocketCasts: https://pca.st/h0E4RadioPublic: https://radiopublic.com/blue-poet-tree-GmRl59Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/anchor-podcasts/blue-poet-tree25 min

- Ep. 73: G.O.A.L.O. (Get Over All Life Obstacles)The term G.O.A.L.O. is an acronym created by Quindell Evans to use as the name of a monthly open mic he hosts. It was originally G.O.L.O. which stood for Get Over Life Obstacles but Quindell decided to add the letter A in order to allow the acronym to spell out the word GOAL. Now the term means Get Over All Life Obstacles. And that’s what we all want to do. The question is, how? Listen to Episode 73 of The Blue Poet Tree Podcast as Quindell reflects on having concrete goals and how it can trump obstacles.BluePoetTree.comFollow Quindell at: http://instagram.com/bluepoettreeYoutube: http://youtube.com/humanclackinboy?sub_confirmation=1Support The Blue Poet Tree Podcast CashApp: $BluePoetTreeGive Your Feedback About The Podcast: https://goo.gl/forms/w0YQDTNzEwjly9gB2Listen to Quindell’s music at: Apple Music: itunes.apple.com/us/artist/quindell-evans/id949937852Google Play: play.google.com/store/music/artist?id=An5yefgmz7shxh65qbmogk3xbteSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/4C9aYu7Wb1wet1y9vpzXKeTidal: https://tidal.com/artist/6342127Listen to The Blue Poet Tree Podcast:Apple: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/blue-poet-tree/id1436190158?mt=2&uo=4Google: https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cHM6Ly9hbmNob3IuZm0vcy82Y2M4ZTA4L3BvZGNhc3QvcnNzSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0PH07Vkz8D584t5iTAOK4PBreaker: https://www.breaker.audio/blue-poet-tree-1Castbox: https://castbox.fm/channel/id1444808Overcast: https://overcast.fm/itunes1436190158/blue-poet-treePocketCasts: https://pca.st/h0E4RadioPublic: https://radiopublic.com/blue-poet-tree-GmRl59Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/anchor-podcasts/blue-poet-tree28 min
- Ep. 72: Why I Wrote The Song ‘Stop Guessing’In the summer of 2014, I just began facilitating poetry workshops on Rikers Island. This being my first experience of the infamous jail, I was immediately awestruck by the overrepresentation of Blacks. Because I reflect mainly through poetry, music, singing and writing, I decided to express my feelings of this realization by writing the song ‘Stop Guessing.’ I spit one of my favorite flows on this song and there’s no way I can forget these lyrics that I’m so emotionally attached to. - Ep 70: Why I Wrote The Poem ‘There’s No Solution’Inspired by Lupe Fiasco’s ‘Food & Liquor II’ album from 2012, the poem ‘There’s No Solution’ was written in 2013 after Quindell began reflecting on the issues in his life as well as of the issues in society. He touches on his relationship with women and how it is effecting women. He questions whether there is any solution to his and society’s issues and even offers a solution. - Ep 68: Why I Wrote The Song ‘Killing Blacks’Written in 2014 after the horrific killings of Mike Brown and Philando Castile by police, the song “Killing Blacks” by Quindell Evans is his reaction to the way the murders were portrayed in the media. Many people are insensitive to or indifferent about blacks’ negative portrayal in the media as well as blacks’ overrepresentation in the prison system but Quindell is sensitive to it. Maybe because he works at Rikers Island, Horizons & Crossroads Juvenile Centers as a program facilitator. Maybe it’s because he grew up in an at-risk and impoverished community and experienced so much.
