Guest: Dr. Farhat Haq is a Visiting Professor of Political Science at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). She is a Professor Emeritus and served as the Chair of the Political Science Department for 20 years and the Director of International Studies for 12 years at Monmouth College.
Dr. Haq was appointed as the first woman Provost at LUMS. She previously served as the Coordinator for the Faculty Career Enhancement program for ACM. She was the Midwest faculty fellow for the Regional World Initiative at the University of Chicago and the Illinois Humanities Council Road Scholar for five years. She also served as President and Treasurer of the American Institute of Pakistan Studies.
Dr. Haq received four National Endowment for the Humanities awards to engage in advanced studies on Comparative Religions at Harvard University, the University of Wisconsin, the University of Chicago, and Columbia University. She was awarded Woodrow Wilson Fellowship.
Dr. Haq holds a B.A. from the State University of New York at Fredonia and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Cornell University. She received two Excellence in Teaching awards.
