Vor nur 4 Personen im halbwegs chicen »Aera« ... volle Hütte zwei Wochen später im total heruntergekommenen »Brucknbeisl« deplatziert als BALL-Band auf der »Johan Strauss« und höchst eindrucksvoll im »Papas Tapas« - trotz totalem Stromausfall.

Vienamericana live! SLOW BUDGET's first gigs were a veritable up-and-down affair. In front of just 4 people in the reasonably chic “Aera” ... a full house two weeks later in the totally run-down “Brucknbeisl”...deplaced as a ball band on the “Johan Strauss” and highly impressive in the “Papas Tapas” - despite a total power failure.

Die sorgsam geschriebenen Texte bestimmen im Wesentlichen die musikalische Stimmung und oft die ganze Komposition. Das hat schon bei SLOW BUDGET begonnen, jener in den 1990ern aktiven Wiener Band, die gewissermaßen den Nucleus der Vienamericana Bewegung gebildet hat. Jener Band, deren Musiker sich erst vor kurzem erneut zusammengefunden haben – bei SALZAMT.

Vienamericana lyrics are not just there for the singers to utter words - instead of “lalala” or “scubeedoo”. The carefully written lyrics essentially determine the musical mood and often the entire composition. This already began with SLOW BUDGET, the Viennese band active in the 1990s that formed the nucleus of the Vienamericana movement, so to speak. The band whose musicians only recently got together again, in SALZAMT.
