The Blur Podcasts return to present the German DJ and producer - Simon Hinter.

Having begun his career in the 90's producing hip-hop and deejaying and scratching, he has developed over the years into a prolific electronic music producer with releases on labels such as Freerange Records, Quintessentials, Morris Audio, Madhouse Records, Just Move Records, Hafendisko, Defected and many others.

One to not care about musical rules or principles, Simon Hinter is serious about his music being his alone, and allowing him to do whatever he wants, whenever.

Citing influences such as hip-hop, soul, jazz, funk and rare soundtracks of the sixties and seventies, he identifies himself primarily as a producer, although DJing and his love for these soulful tunes from the past have been cemented in him since an early age.

His stage name summarizes his way of working on new tracks and mixes, which often arise from nightly music sessions. Midnight Sessions is also the playlist editor for the Berlin radio station FluxFM, where he expresses his love for other genres like indie, pop and electronics.

With a long career that dates back to the mid-nineties, he came into contact with the radio station OKJ Jena for the first time in 2001.

Having developed his first love for radio with a hip-hop programme it wasn't long until he left half of his fortune in record shops quickly reaching thousands of records.

Beginning as a radio presenter, in charge of Herzklopfen Radio programme in OKJ, Reiner brought the crème de la crème of the Jena house and techno scene to his studio on a regular basis.

In January 2016, the station was restructured and he was brought into the Radio Electronica team by Nicola Candelaria, being now responsible for booking, new introductions and the internationalisation of the Radio Electronica brand.

He's also been responsible for the bookings behind our podcasts, so it is with great pleasure that we welcome Reiner to the 33rd edition of the Blur Podcasts.
