Florida Dept. of Health in Marion County’s Mark Lander looks at the high positivity rates and significant transmission of COVID-19 locally. Hospitals are full, but are able to handle the high patient counts. Monoclonal antibodies treatments are proving effective reducing hospitalizations. Vaccination rates are ticking up in the last couple of weeks, which will help reduce infections. But death rates are climbing among younger patients. Lander says this recent surge looks like it is at its peak, and is hoping the delta variant spread is going to slow. High majority of cases of infections are among the unvaccinated.
US Sen. Rick Scott joined The Bob Rose Show railing on Biden’s Afghanistan pullout. Scott looked at the impact of the pullout, and questioned if Biden’s moves are all part of a larger plan to deliberately cause chaos abroad, at the US-Mexico border, Cuba, and the US economy.
FL 3rd Dist. US House Rep. Kat Cammack laid out step by step the details of the House-passed $3.5 trillion budget package. The spending is huge, and expands the reach of the federal government into areas pushed by Sen. Bernie Sanders and New Green Deal proponents. The package will be passed through reconciliation, and is in addition to the recently enacted infrastructure bill.
