For a few short weeks, ESPN's The Last Dance was the best piece of basketball content on the planet. Well here's the second best. We watched 1993's MTV Rock and Jock Basketball. The third annual, which overlaps tidily with The Last Dance. Its got Dan Majerle, Rick Mahorn, Ed Lover, Bill Bellamy, Dan Cortez, Tag Team performing at half time, Jon Stewart in the booth, and most importantly it has Kay Gee from Naughty By Nature on The Violators. Kay Gee is an incredibly underrated producer, and after we get through all the insane basketball and 90's pop culture conversation, we look at some lesser-known tracks that he produced.

The audio is of "remote" quality but its very listenable. I know we loved doing it and there will definitely be more Rocks and Jocks in our future.

Watch this movie! It's free on Youtube and it's great. Mack 10 and Fat Joe play one time rivals turned business partners caught between hustling and the creative process. It was produced by Mack 10 himself with some help by Priority Films, and it has everyone in it - Ice Cube, Big Pun, B-Real, Krayzie and Layzie Bone, MC Eiht as a guy who sucks at Taboo, and Mack 10 co-leading with Fat Joe.

HUSTLERS was one of the best films of 2019 and we watched it with our good friend Abbey. We talk a lot about the 2008 financial crash, feature some rappers who were also strippers, and we collectively freak out over THAT scene. You know the one.

The Master of Disguise film starring Dana Carvey has been a longtime running joke between us and Brandon Soderberg, an incredible writer from Baltimore. We always said we'd find a way to talk about it through a rap lens, and April Fools seemed like the right opportunity, given the success of our SPICE WORLD Episode.

So that's what we did. We had a conversation that somehow spans 9/11, Toronto Rap, Brandon's incredible book (out in July), No Limit, Mike Oldfield, Jhene Aiko and Matthew Knowles. Its nuts. And its great. And in this time of COVID-19, we all just need more content.

:00 - :59 - Intro
:59 - 53:00 - Master of Disguise
53:00 - End - Toronto Rap, Brandon's Book, Young Bleed, Mike Oldfield, Matthew Knowles being a scammer.

We did it! Critic and Filmmaker Scout Tafoya (@honors_zombie) returns to the show to talk about ANACONDA, a 90 minute classic starring Jennifer Lopez and Ice Cube. There are too many dick jokes, just enough Jon Voigt impressions, Anthony losing the will to live, a covert CATS podcast (at 55 minutes in) and a TRULY horrid musical drop. You have been warned.

Movie part ends and rap part begins at 1:18

We did it! We watched the movie that is long. Action Bronson made his acting debut in the last five seconds of a five hour movie. Sean McTiernan, Irish movie genius and now one of the few non-suspect Yotubers came through to watch and discuss this Action Bronson classic. The episode is also long. Because we are good at podcasting.

We made it! Episode 100 so you know we had to do a classic. Proud to say we didn't fuck it up, except for the abysmal live commentary we tried to record but we won't talk about that. It's a great episode covering what is arguably patient zero for the rap movie movement.

Rest in power Rip Torn! The passing of a legend, paired with the fact that Canadian TV personality Tom Green is a real-deal rapper was enough reason to watch this monument to weird cinema. Freddy Got Fingered is the film Tom Green wrote and directed when he was at the height of his fame, and there is no way in hell this film could have been made at any other time. This episode is mainly just me and Anthony in awe of the film we just watched. We also talk about Canadian Rap, with a brief stop to explain the Hmong heritage.

We watched a 4th of July CLASSIC. Sike its not really a classic. Its no ROLL BOUNCE, thats for sure. But it IS a chance for us to talk a lot about T-Pain, and Field Mob too for some reason. So there's that.

Machine Gun Kelly is a rapper. He is in a movie about Motley Crue. Which is enough of a reason for us to watch a movie about Motley Crue for this silly silly podcast. As you might guess, we talk a LOT about Crue, but we do find some time at the end to discuss other rappers from Cleveland, and a little bit about Machine Gun Kelly's beef with Eminem...mostly to cackle at his jokes about Em's weird beard. Enjoy.
