Sometimes, after a long period of mulling, things come together in a work of art, or a manifesto, in a lightning rod moment of creativity. I am compelled to share my latest Dance Manifesto. I think it also addresses an urgent & pertinent question: What is the role of art in the context of global climate catastrophe? I also speak about the role of beauty, beauty as an oracle.

This episode is a celebration of a 55 year relationship between human & turtle. Oliver Kellhammer & I discuss intimacy, kinship and communication. How we feel incompleteness and/or completeness through relationships, both human relationships and interspecies. We also discuss caretaking, stewardship and joy. Feeling nested within the web of other lives, and the importance of dispersing our narcissistic idea of the self into interspecies selves. Oliver Kellhammer is an artist, permaculture expert, professor at Parsons School of Design in the Sustainable Systems program. We are friends and we teach together.
