We're back at the time of the year where college football is back in full force. That means it's also time for us to preview what awaits for the season. Join us, as we give our picks to win the Power Four conferences (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC), and show love to the mid-major schools . We also discuss how LSU became the most hated football program in the country, and whether or not the feelings are warranted (Background music used courtesy of Anno Domini Beats - Talk).
Sometimes, life can throw a curveball, and plans can change quickly. This is the case with the second episode of the BOFASports Origin Stories series, as our planned guest won't be able to talk with us tonight. So while it's not the most ideal scenario (because she has a great story to share), an opportunity for Patrick and me to share some of our experiences with life and sports arises, and we take advantage of it the best we can. Sit back and enjoy, because if you know us, there's no telling what might be said...haha (Background music used courtesy of Dyalla - Slipping Away).
As we close in on the end of NFL training camps, it's time to give a few of the league's teams their examination for making noise in the regular season. That's right...Bite or Bark is back for another week, and we try to answer some of the numerous question marks leading up to games that count. We also discuss how college eligibility is apparently open to anyone with a pulse, fans of the Browns needing lifelong hugs, and a lesson in life provided by 49ers owner Jed York (Background music used courtesy of Everet Almond - Taking In The Changes).
After months of hyping it up, the debut of the BOFASports Origin Stories series is finally here, and our first guest has been on the show before, mostly around the start of the NBA playoffs. For this occasion, Stan Franklin graces us with his presence to share a few experiences and life lessons from his participation in athletic activities. Quick note: After a conversation with Stan, I always feel a little wiser after hearing his viewpoints, and the hope is you feel that way as you consume this episode (Background music used courtesy of Dyalla - Soulicious).
One of America's favorite games makes a triumphant return, as we decided which college football teams can have an impactful bite, or prove to have a whimpering bark. We also explore the jersey situation involving LSU and former quarterback Jayden Daniels, and provide a preview of what's coming for our interview series, scheduled to debut on Thursday (Background music courtesy of Alex Jones, Xander Jones - Fire In The Sky).
It's one thing to get washed away in the emotions of a rivalry, but research has to have a place, and apparently, the memory of Purdue athletic director Tommy McClelland is a little farsighted. We discuss the comments McClelland made about Indiana that landed in the "He must have forgotten" category. We also look into the College Football Playoff, and the changes (yes, more) coming as the tournament enters its third year in the current 12-team format. Finally, we explore why running backs are all of a sudden getting money bags in the NFL, after a long (and misinformed) period of devaluation (Background music used courtesy of Nat Keefe - Searching).
One of the new features that arrived with the start of the MLB regular season was an automated system for balls and strikes. We're here to break down the numbers from the challenges, and what they show about the accuracy of the umpires (and players). We also discuss FIFA's greed starting to catch up, CBS analyst Tony Romo getting put on leave after an alcohol-related arrest, and the preseason coaches poll for college football (background music used courtesy of Anno Domini Beats - Alias).
The World Cup of soccer has concluded, and Spain gets to celebrate as the champions. We'll start the show with saluting the winning country, while discussing some of the images created during this month-long tournament held in North America. We also bring MLB into the show, specifically the awakening of the Red Sox. Finally, we'll take a look at the latest round of layoffs at ESPN, and what they signal as their merger with the NFL takes shape.
It's no secret American citizens aren't too happy with Congress at this moment, and our governing body continues to show why. Apparently, the treatment of Caitlin Clark on WNBA courts is the most important item on their agenda, and we're here to discuss why this is probably a serious overreach. Speaking of the WNBA, we'll also make a case as to why it's time for their commissioner, Cathy Engelbert, to resign. In the temperature is running hot category, we'll explore Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark's exchange with a Lubbock radio show host during conference media days, and emotions bubbling over in the aftermath of the Bucks-Heat trade (but business isn't personal, right??).
The trades keep coming in the NBA, and (perhaps finally) Jaylen Brown is the player on the move, going from the Celtics to the 76ers. Is "The Process" back on in Philadelphia? We'll discuss, and we also ask what the Cavaliers are doing after they signed Donovan Mitchell to a contract extension that averages close to $70 million per year. Finally, we wonder where the U.S. men's soccer team goes after losing to Belgium in the World Cup Round of 16.
