The uncertainty and rapidly changing landscape for kids returning to school is creating a lot of stress and anxiety for families. And providing a place — whether it’s at home or at school — where children can safely thrive educationally and emotionally has never been more challenging.
But what about families that are unhoused during this pandemic? That makes it almost impossible to get children access to the education they need.
Two Idaho nonprofits are joining forces to help out this population. Jodi Peterson Stigers is with Boise’s Interfaith Sanctuary, and Scott Curtis is with the Idaho Youth Ranch. Both join Idaho Matters to talk more about what they’re working on.
As COVID-19 cases spread through the U.S. and Idaho, we’re committed to keeping you updated and informed. You can get updated info on cases, closures and how to stay healthy at any time on our Coronavirus news blog.
