Krissy, aka Nacolepsy Betsy chats all about content creation. She got her start in college and continued just posting fun things happening in her life. It was one special video that got A LOT of attention that really pointed her in the direction of being a content creator outside of her full time job.

Her focus is on navigating life as a 20 something in Boston, which includes of course dating, the bar scene, St Patrick's Day in Southie and more!

She also has a lot of interest in lifting other women and empowering them, unlike what she saw growing up when women, especially high profile women, would be ridiculed for not having the perfect body, skin or hair!

Alessandra Pollina is the founder of Quotable Media Co., a PR and media agency which works to elevate women-led brands and produces Quotable: A Female Entrepreneur Podcast and Quotable Magazine. She also hosts PR workshops and educational programs for small business owners and runs the Female Founders of Boston networking group. Alessandra sits on the board of the Massachusetts chapter of the National Organization for Women (Mass NOW), and was awarded the 40 Under 40 from Boston Business Journal in 2022. She's based in Boston, where she lives with her husband and 8-year-old son.

I had the pleasure of popping in to Becca's new studio in Charlestown for a little work out and a sit down to hear all about her journey (so far)!

She shared how she came up with the idea of an indoor run studio before anything like that really existed. Then, the journey to make it happen.

Becca admits she didn't know much about making this dream a reality. But she did have friends that could help, and they did.

Her first studio opened a few years later in the North End in Boston. Just as she was settling in and feeling good, the building the studio was located in was experiencing structural issues and they had to move out, quickly!

She shares how she and her team managed that, the pandemic and eventually opening the newest Mystryde in Charlestown!

Movement Remedies is a Pilates and Wellness business that specializes in reducing the negative impact of pain for people recovering from injury and/or trauma, or living with chronic conditions. And physical activity is a proven contributor to overall well-being.

DK shares her own journey with pain and finding pilates! She's also in the process of writing her first book. She talks about how the Pilates method is safe and accessible for every body and offers sessions that are designed to give clients a sense of empowerment in and connection to their bodies, with the goal of alleviating pain symptoms.

Christine is a mom of 2 who's been in the Property Management Business for 17 years.

During the pandemic, she found herself curating little gifts to send to people who needed a little warmth and love (didn't we all!) The gifts included self care and inspirational items along with a note of encouragement.

Before long other people were reaching out to have her curate boxes to send to friends, family members, etc. Thus Buttercup was born even with Christine saying she wasn't trying to start a business!

She is now focused on continuing to build the business by connecting with other women owned businesses and local vendors!

Nikki popped over to my place in Charlestown (a section of Boston) to sit down and chat about her background, her love of dogs and Charlestown and her position as President of Charlestown Dogs.

Since taking over in this position shes done a lot to increase visibility for the organization both in town and on social media.

Charlestown Dogs is actually not just a social organization but a non-profit that (among other things) is working to increase awareness of the need for sanctioned off-leash spaces, as well as other resources for dog owners including waste bag dispensers and water fountains. They also hold regular efforts to clean up the neighborhood and repair damaged turf in parks around town.

Kelly Sullivan joined Boston 25 News as a reporter in June 2017. As a native of Auburn, MA, it has always been her dream to work in the television market she grew up watching. Prior to working in Boston, Kelly was an evening anchor and reporter at WPRI in Providence, RI. There, she had the opportunity to cover several big stories, from President Trump on the campaign trail, to traveling to Cleveland to cover Tom Brady's return from his suspension, and then to Houston to report on the Patriot's Super Bowl win. Before Providence, she also worked at NewsChannel 8 in Washington, D.C. where she reported along the parade route following President Barack Obama's first inauguration.

On this episode we chat about some of these amazing moments in her career along with her passsion for covering the local stories and stories of local businesses on her feature "Be Your Own Boss".

Kelly and her husband have also dipped their toes into real estate, getting their licenses together, doing a few deals a year for people they know and buying a couple of their own investments.

Bajer is a Kurdish word that simply means a city, but it has a much deeper meaning for the Kurds.

As a long-oppressed minority in the Middle East, the Kurds have often been forced to abandon their small towns and villages, flee to safer ground in cities. As a result, the notion of a city has come to represent not only a physical space but also a state of mind.

During her childhood in the 90s, Leyla Uysal and other Kurds in Turkey were not allowed to travel between cities due to the war conditions.
