Ali discovered the incredible power of acupuncture and herbal medicine through her own struggles with stress and hormone imbalance. After years of unresolved stress, It was a wake up call to listen to her body.

When conventional medical diagnostics failed to provide any conclusive answers or solutions she decided to see what acupuncture and a more holistic approach had to offer.

Together with her acupunturist, they addressed her symptoms with a course of consistent acupuncture treatments, herbal formula supplementation, and diet and lifestyle modification.

Within a matter of months she went from depressed and exhausted to vibrant and exuberant! This experience offered her an invaluable lesson in attuning to her body's messages and intuition.

Fast forward, today she owns 2 locations of Yintuition where she and her team focus on Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Fertility, Pregnancy along with Mental Health and Wellness.

Bajer is a Kurdish word that simply means a city, but it has a much deeper meaning for the Kurds.

As a long-oppressed minority in the Middle East, the Kurds have often been forced to abandon their small towns and villages, flee to safer ground in cities. As a result, the notion of a city has come to represent not only a physical space but also a state of mind.

During her childhood in the 90s, Leyla Uysal and other Kurds in Turkey were not allowed to travel between cities due to the war conditions.

It is this spirit of freedom and resilience that drove Leyla to found Bajer Watches. She wanted to create a brand that would showcase the talent and strength of Kurdish women. The watches are Swiss-made timepieces, but they are also so much more. They are a symbol of hope for a better future for the Kurdish people.

Bajer is a tribute to all Kurdish women who have fought for their rights and refused to be silenced, whether that be their most recent armed struggle against the Islamic State or their centuries-old struggle for education and equality in a patriarchal society.

Despite their challenges, Kurdish women are a force to be reckoned with—and Leyla wants the world to know it.

The initial idea for Park-9 grew out of love for Nora, the 3-year old golden retriever parented by Tess + Emily and spoiled by uncle Chris. They love spending time with her while socializing with their (human) family, friends, and often their four-legged best friends. However, there are very few "dog-friendly" spaces or environments truly dedicated to the comfort and enjoyment of both dogs and their people. Park-9 is the answer.

Teeru shares her experience learning about cancer at a very young age when a friend lost her mother to the disease. It was at that young age that she knew she wanted to help.

Fast forward she actually is helping! Teeru is now in cancer research and has been for years.

We discuss some of the strides being made in the efforts to cure cancer and her other passion, jewelry.

Teeru was also exposed to jewelry design/sales by her mother when she was young and today she combines that passion with her continued efforts to help with cancer research.

With Bihani Jewelry she continues to donate a portion of sales to the American Cancer Society.

Cristina moved to America from Romania when she was just 11 years old. Very unfamiliar with the culture, not to mention the language it was a bit of a challenge. She recounts, "I struggled a lot with acclimating to this country, and I had to suppress my emotions for a long time," As she grew older she says she wanted to explore embracing her feelings and even saying the words 'joy' or 'love.'

After getting married and working in the beauty industry at such big brands at Avon, Bath & Body Works and Living Proof she decided to launch her own fragrance brand Emmotiv, a clean fine fragrance brand designed to enhance emotions with wearable scents. It premiered just 6 months ago with four fragrances—Joy Rush, Love Euphoric, Calm Soul and Cozy Reverie.

We talk about her background, how she has been able to fully self fund her business along with some of her challenges and rewards!

All of that to say, she likes thinking outside the box and creating a measurable impact!
