Amanda spends her days helping people shop, style, edit their closets and elevate their wardrobes. She came by my place to check out my closet for a mini edit session and sit down to talk about her journey to this place.
Her love for fashion has lasted her whole life, growing up reading the pages of VOGUE and dreaming of working in the industry. She worked on the corporate side of advertising & media before joining The RealReal, the largest luxury consignment e-commerce company in the US. With a background in fashion and business, Amanda understands the importance of a strong personal brand expressed through style and how this can impact success both personally and professionally. And now, she's founded Wave + Woven to deliver exceptional concierge personal styling experiences and a 360 approach to shopping and getting dressed.

Her interest in the beauty industry began in high school. She worked for 16 years at a salon on Newbury Street, building long-lasting relationships before taking the leap to open Petaloúda.
We chat about what it took to get to this place, finding the perfect location and team!
As a friend, it's been an honor to watch as she brings her dream to life with not just this location but the community, environment and vibe that is felt by both clients and her team alike.

Joining me for a second time on this podcast, Kristina and I reconnect to have an important conversation about breast cancer awareness and early detection.
We discuss her early diagnosis of the BRCA1 gene mutation and the steps she took knowing her chances of getting breast and/or ovarian cancer. Kristina also shares how and when other women can be tested.
When we spoke the last time she was on the podcast, she shared the story along with her two sisters (one of which was also diagnosed with the gene mutation). The 3 have bonded together to not only bring awareness but to support one another through their surgeries.
One of the things they've bonded over is running marathons! They also support and run along side eachother and have just returned from running Berlin!
Through this journey Kristina says she has found her voice, thinking at one time that it was possible that cancer might end her life...instead she is out educating, supporting and raising funds for research!

Born in the Dominican Republic, Olga emigrated with her family to Salem, Massachusetts in the early 1990s. Her family maintained strong connections to their Caribbean heritage by speaking only Spanish at home. As a fully bilingual English and Spanish speaker, Olga translated for family and friends who had limited English skills. In 1999 she assumed a leadership role in the "La Union Latina" organization, established in 1987 at Salem High School to celebrate Latin-American culture and traditions. In 2007, Hispanic Business Inc. recognized her as a Winner's Circle Scholar at the Hispanic Business' annual Woman of the Year Awards event.
Olga now uses her platform in leading and empowering Latinas and women of color in leadership, career advancement, and overcoming adversity. She has seen the hardships, ranging from positional leadership struggles as well as awareness of Latina women working in business. Olga is proud to have won countless awards for her work.
Like many women, this mother of 3 spends her days balancing motherhood and career. One of her mottos is "if you can't find a village, build one", and thats exactly what she did when creating Boston Moms.

I had the pleasure of meeting Nash at a dinner party I went to recently with a beautiful room full of amazing women. We sat next to each other and instantly connected. She's warm, funny, engaging and super driven!
I immediately followed up so that I could have her share her story on this podcast. We recorded at her store, Milk Money in Wellesley, MA. It's filled with jewelry, clothing, accessories and fun home items! When we sat down Nash explained what she was trying to achieve with the store, just one of the many businesses she's run since her 20's. She's been a publisher, publicist, store owner and more. When faced with any new opportunity/challenge it's like she says "oh I can do this" and she does!
