On this episode I sit down with Casey Marielle, one of the two sisters behind Jaju Pierogi.
Sixty years ago, their Jaju (dziadziu, or grandfather) started a Polish food business with his brothers and sisters in Western Massachusetts—hand-crafting pierogi, golabki, and kielbasa for their community. Fast forward to the '90s and you'd find the girls spending their weekends cutting, stuffing, and sealing pierogi in the back kitchen alongside their elders.
Finally, in 2015, Vanessa & Casey decided to head to the family store and dust off their grandfather's recipes. They started selling at farmers markets and grew the business! They are now available in 2500 stores nationwide!
We chat about their history, leaving the corporate world and some of the dynamics of running a family business.

I met Jessica recently at a networking event. She said she wanted to meet me to talk to me about real estate. Turns out, I loved hearing what SHE had to say!
On this episode she shares how she started buying properties at just 24 years old. Her first with her (soon to be husband) at the time. She was even so traditional that she wanted to wait to move into it until they were married.
And it took off from there, each time her husband identified a possible investment, she trusted him. And it's paid off. They now own 4 properties together.
Jessica also shared with me the story of her sister Jenny, who had a stroke a few years ago at a young age. Since then Jessica and her family have gathered around to give love, support, raise awareness and funds to help Jenny. And the goal is to eventually help others with these efforts!
She shares information on a couple upcoming events that you can help with too!
Jill founded "Movement with Jill" because she wanted people to have an open, welcoming and non-judgmental space to move. To Jill, movement is something to help us feel better both physically and mentally. Growing up in Marblehead, MA she was extremely shy and self-conscious. Her goal for clients is to help them gain confidence in movement and become their best selves through her Pilates classes.
We sat down in her Boston studio to discuss how she was drawn to pilates, the benefits she saw with it and how she now shares that with her clients in private and on line classes as well as pop ups around Boston. Check out her webiste and instagram for inspiration, an authentic approach to fitness and to find out where she'll be teaching this summer!

The Rose Maven was founded in 2019 by UMass Boston Graduate, Elle, who believes that roses should be more than just beautiful flowers—they should be an expression of love and joy that lasts. Roses are the gift of love, and that's why she creates unique designs of preserved roses that look as beautiful on day one as day 365.
We talk about how she became inspired by roses, donated them to first responders during the pandemic and has grown her business into what it is today.
