A key component of the spiritual rebuilding process is staying focused on the task at hand. Recognizing and eliminating “distractions” that hold you back from what God wants you to do is the subject today on Bold Steps. It seems like the bigger the job, the more we have a tendency to be distracted along the way. Nehemiah encountered this as the work got underway rebuilding Jerusalem and we can expect distractions spiritually when we attempt to work on areas of our lives that need work. We’ll get some practical steps on staying focused in the midst of distraction from Nehemiah chapter 6.

When you live as a steward of what God gives you, you will begin to operate with your money in a whole different way. Rebuilding and the call for generosity from the top down… is the topic today on Bold Steps. We continue in Nehemiah chapter 5 where Nehemiah, in the process of the huge rebuilding effort of Jerusalem, rebuked the church and its leaders over questionable and unjust money handling. There needed to be reform and he called them out. Many of us also need this same message and Pastor Mark takes us there.

Pastor Mark Jobe says that when spiritual things decline in our lives, so do our financial decisions. Today, Bold Steps needed for the Battle Inside the Wall. We’re continuing our current series in the book of Nehemiah. Every building effort must start from within and a main issue is dealing with finances. We get a practical lesson on this from how Nehemiah handled it during the Jerusalem rebuilding process, and it applies to everyone.

Battles are won and lost in critical moments. When it comes to spiritual rebuilding, there are things that will side-track us or bring progress to a halt… unless we take Bold Steps to keep moving forward. Any military general will tell you that a good strategy is key to overcoming the enemy. When it comes to moving forward with God in our spiritual lives, the same is true…opposition will come, and weaknesses exposed. Pastor Mark Jobe says that we need to protect those vulnerable areas while we’re working at our call or it could all come to a grinding stop.

Are you in a season where you have to rebuild your life because you started out wrong or made some bad choices along the way? Today, Pastor Mark Jobe has some Bold Steps to help with Starting Right. We’re in a month-long verse-by-verse study in the book of Nehemiah and we’re at the point where he has been given the go-ahead and is contemplating the first step in the rebuilding process. All of us own at least one shirt with buttons on the front. What happens when the first button is put into the wrong hole and we button our shirt? ALL of the buttons are then in the wrong holes! That first step (button) dictates how all other steps will be aligned. It’s the same way in any rebuilding process and we can learn a lot from Nehemiah on the topic.

Your story is a preparation for your present. We need to be ready for open doors with a plan, but also knowing there will be opposition. Today on Bold Steps, more from the bold leadership of Nehemiah. We’re all about Rebuilding in our current series as we continue our study of the leadership of Nehemiah. As the story unfolds and we compare his job with our own rebuilding efforts, we might not be restoring a whole city, but there’s so much we can draw from when we look at the choices and decisions he made in preparation that applies to our lives today.

Sometimes we see something that needs to be done, and we can immediately jump into the work quickly without asking God: “is this Your timing?” Today, Pastor Mark Jobe talks about the Hand of God in the rebuilding process on Bold Steps. We’ve heard it before… timing is everything. Nehemiah had a burden, something that gripped his soul. He knew he had to act, but there was a patience there as well. We can jump in too quickly… but there are steps to take while we wait for the proper time. The title of the message today is, “The Hand of God” and our guide is Nehemiah 2.
