S3 Ep. 7 This will be a 3 Part series, so plan to tune in over the next few weeks. Christian women need to talk about this!
When you were a little girl, did you expect adult life to be this way? I sure didn’t. Maybe you thought your marriage would be more sparkly, that your children would be your best friends or that financial breathing room would be a given in your life, but maybe you do not have those factors as constants. That can manifest as deep, dark, scary disappointment.
Acknowledging your disappointment is healthy, because grief and faith are not exclusive. Knowing something didn’t go the way you hoped, grieving your old vision and also having faith that God is sanctifying you all the while can happen at the same time.
Taking disappointment to the Lord is a great way to strengthen your relationship with Him and it is the safe thing to do so your heart resists bitterness or resentment.
Something I’m Loving: My daughter Analise and her husband Sam go to church with us and sit in the same row as us. It is a total blessing to watch their marriage in action, to see how they care for Celeste, and to see what the Lord is doing in their lives.
