I’ve been taught to ask questions. More questions in order to understand better, and to learn more. My mom used to say ‘ask a question and you’re a fool for five minutes, don’t ask and you’ll be a fool for life’.
A few years ago I discovered ‘big talks’ as a concept and I was, as you can perhaps imagine, hooked straight up. I love to use this kind of questions as an icebreaker. To get away from the ‘boring’ ordinary questions and instead go deeper.
Here are a few examples that I mention in the talk: What have you started, but never finished, and why? * What is one question you’d ask a fortune teller? * What object would you save if your house were on fire? * If money were no concern, how would you live your life differently?
