Bonus Barrel - Gaming Pod

Bonus Barrel takes a look at the "controversial" game Undertale. Well.. Rob and Seigi do. After we talk about news and some miscellaneous topics we talk about all the things we like about this game. And some things we don't like. Is this a perfect game? Is it the.. BEST GAME EVER? Well, I suppose you'd have to tune in to find out what two grown men think about this game. Can they relate with the YOUTH of this generation? Do they have enough... DETERMINATION! Probably, it's a good show. Oh! Rob also talks a bit about an old DS game, Full Metal Alchemist Dual Sympathy. That's a thing that happens. ALSO - we address briefly the topic from last week. Man, we cover a lot of stuff.

News this Ep:

-Pokken (New Fighters)

- Kickstarter results of 2015

- Bayonetta 2 to get a standalone release

Bonus Barrel is back in the new year! Well, recorded in the new year. So that counts. Rob brings in a random, unplanned topic this week. Intending to talk about open world GAMES, we instead mostly talk about what exactly IS an open world game. Sandbox games, MMOs, other weirder choices all get brought up and discussed. In the end.. do we agree? Do we have a good enough definition? Probably not, but we'd love to hear YOUR input. We also cover some news.

Bonus Barrel celebrates Winter Veil (or whatever holiday you like this time of year). We talk gaming Christmas memories, games we got and enjoyed around that time of year, and winter or holiday levels in video games. FUN STUFF. Leff tells another tragic piece of his past, Rob constantly says "melee" wrong, and Seigi gives more sagely advice. Also we discuss Undertale and the recent Gamefaqs Best. Game. Ever pole. There's weird stuff there but it made for a good talk. Oh! We also open some presents we got each other. They're game related too so I think it's okay.

This week on Bonus Barrel we take a trip back in time to a magical era where people would go to a building, pay money, and bring a game back with them for a set period of time. Game Renting is what the scholars called it. We look back at some games we rented that were significant to us, as well as some of the more popular rental chains and the nostalgia that comes with it. Also Leff tells perhaps one of the funniest stories on the show yet. Also we highlight a few new pick-ups this week and Rob gives his thoughts on Life is Strange now that it's over.
