This was not an enjoyable read. That's putting it mildly, this was such a slog that I only made it halfway before giving up. I am joined by my disgruntled dog Rosie, who barks discontentedly in the background.
A year and a half hiatus later and I am back! I'm sorry to have walked away from this podcast for so long, but 2020 and the first half of 2021 were a shit storm of events. But enough if talking of what was, let's talk of what is! This episode is just a brief update on what my plans are for continuing The Book Club for the Apocalypse. The next book review will be of "A People's History of the Vampire Uprising" by Raymond Villareal. I will be joined, in future, by my friend Sydney, my grumpy dog Rosie, and many more co-hosts along the way.
This episode I'm joined by my good friend Sydney to discuss past pandemics, the current COVID-19 outbreak, and how terrifyingly realistic a virus based apocalypse really is. My dog, Rosie, also barks in the back, occasionally.
This is the second and final discussion of The Girl in Red by Christina Henry. !!!SPOILER ALERT!!! I will be talking about the book from chapter 9 all the way to the end. Learn my last thoughts on this book and why I decided to give it a Goodreads 3 out of 5 stars.
Welcome to the first official Book Club for the Apocalypse episode! I will be discussing the first half of "The Girl in Red" by Christina Henry. SPOILER ALERT: this episode includes details of chapters 1 - 8 of the book, please don't listen if you are wanting to read it first!
This is the trailer for my new podcast, "Book Club for the Apocalypse." In it I explain my goal for the podcast, which is to discuss any apocalyptic fiction book I happen to be reading, as well as the deeper implications to humanity's obsession with the End of Days. I plan on covering everything from the history of the genre, conspiracy theories, survival plans, cult favorite tv shows/movies, and more! I promise this will not be a doom and gloom listening experience. I plan to have fun with this subject and make fun of some of the more outlandish Doom's Day theories. I will always be on the lookout for any pre-, post-, or near apocalypse books so suggest away! Seriously, even some ridiculous zombie romance is not off the table. I hope you enjoy listening.
