Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl is a delightful children's book that combines adventure, humor, and a clever fox who outsmarts three

greedy farmers. This timeless classic continues to captivate readers of all

ages with its charm and wit.

In Boy, Roald Dahl recounts his days as a child growing up in England. From his years as a prankster at boarding school to his envious position as a chocolate tester for Cadbury's, Roald Dahl's boyhood was as full of excitement and the unexpected as are his world-famous, best-selling books. Packed with anecdotes—some funny, some painful, all interesting—this is a book that's sure to please.

This is Dahl’s spin off for Jack and the magic bean stalk, a stranger gives some magic beans to James witnesses a peach growing gigantic. He discovers a number of other creatures that have reacted with the beans, including a grasshopper, an earthworm, and a ladybug. An adventure begins –Sail away on a giant peach in this delightful story of a boy finding friends in unusual ways and in astonishing places.

This book is about the grossest couple: Mr. and Mrs. Twit. They are smelly and ugly. They hate everything! They especially hate each other and they keep playing hilarious pranks on each other. They catch innocent birds to put in their Bird Pies and make their monkeys stand on their heads all day. Here comes your dose of animal neglect and cruelty. Until the final straw lands on the camel's back, its retribution time and the evil folks certainly get their comeuppance.

Ivan’s story is a heartbreaking reminder of how humans can be so cruel to animals, even when they don’t deliberately intend to. Katherine Applegate is the author of The One and Only Ivan, winner of the 2013 Newbery Medal.  Ivan is  the heart of the story. He is our one and only narrator. Ivan is as articulate a narrator as they come! He recounts his life with honesty, humility, and amazingly smart. Ivan has a few loyal friends, a highly opinionated dog, an aging elephant and, eventually, a baby elephant named Ruby who sets his life on an entirely new course.

Truly Devious is another mystery novel, with a superb juggling of past and present. Two murder mysteries, perhaps the same killer. It possesses an interesting new lead for a mystery novel, and its romance is a welcome lighter addition to the darker atmosphere of death. The book is well paced, and has a superb mix of complexity and suspense to provide a well written murder mystery, which is more enjoyable with every reread.
