Ugh. This book. This series. SO. GOOD. In this episode, I chat about Krystal Marquis's second novel "The Davenports: More Than This."
Chicago. 1900s. Automobiles. Cute boys. Flirting. I mean, come on! If you want to read more about the Patterson family that inspired this novel head here: https://www.uniquecoloring.com/articles/cr-patterson-and-sons

Yo! It's been a minute. I had a 30ish life crisis.... and also I am a teacher, so yeah.
Anyway, I went to see Inside Out 2 this weekend and it got me thinking about my journey to adulthood and just how much I've learned about adult friendships and relationships.
So, let's all join hands and take a listen.
Oof, warning I get emotional. This episode is HEAVY. I have had my brother, Jacob, on my mind all weekend and of course a book (A BOOK!) gets me caught up in my feels. In this episode I discuss how important it is for us to recognize that we, as humans, can hold both joy and sadness within us at the same time--- and it is okay! I also discuss how the incredible Dan Gemeinhart's new book "Coyote Lost and Found" brought me to my knees emotionally with a phrase I hope we all adopt: How Lucky Am I?
So, how luck are you?
Here's links to the books I talk about:
1. "The Poetry of Emily Dickinson"
2. "Coyote Lost and Found"
YAY! Thanks for listening. Here's the next episode with my special guest, M. A school counselor, and good friend. We talk about anxiety, career choices, and burnout. The lovely little piece that can creep into your life and make you appreciate weekends more.
Hey there.
My name's J and this is 30ish Unfiltered. A podcast, or audio diary, about being 30ish. In this introductory GarageBand-recorded episode I talk about having no energy, taking care of yourself, and where my head is at.
If you listen, you rock.
Also, shout out to my dishwasher making some rad music in the background.
