Ravellenic Winter Games are over (so are the real ones), and with it I finished some WIPs. I show a half-finished object of a sock, out of Desert Vista Dyeworks's ZomBody Are You? colorway. (Update: I finished the feat of the second sock in time!)
I have a new cast-on, the Adama Cowl also by Hilary Smith Callis, on some Woolfolk Far. I made progress on the My Cryptonite from last time.
In group news, a prize is coming up in March in our 18 Things in 2018, so keep posting your FO's.
After sharing some newly acquired yarn goodness, the book this week is Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. Hope you enjoy and have a great week!
I recorded this a while ago and then forgot to publish it. I talk about several random things. I recently saw the film Loving Vincent, and it was just so heartbreakingly beautiful. I've finished a couple of things so far for Ravellinics, and I'm hoping to finish a few more. The books are Music Shop and The Namesake.
The Ravellenic Winter Games 2018 are quickly approaching. I'm planning on doing WIPs Dancing. How many WIPs can I get done in the time frame? As last year as taught me... never as many as I think I can. hehe
I have finished my DVD socks in Zombody it's cold outside and a hat for homeless shelter.
My three main WIPs I'm currently working on are my Nate hoodie for my son, the My Cryptonite shawl, and a hat for a chemo charity.
The books this week are:
The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien
Silence for the Dead by Simone St. James
It's finished!! I did it!! It only took a little less than a year. ;)
Sorry this took so long to get up. The winter storms here have made my power/internet not work consistently.
I hope you enjoy the episode. :D
I'm so happy to be sitting down sharing knitting and books with you all after my month-long hiatus.
I'm so excited for 2018, and I've been thinking about a fun thing to do this upcoming year.
I hope you enjoy the episode!
I'm trying Vlogmas this year and looking forward to it. My Vlogmas posts will only be available on YouTube, though, due to the limited space I have for iTunes uploads. Hope you watch along!
This week, I've finished the yoked cardigan for my daughter, and I'm so pleased with how it turned out. Thank you everyone for your button suggestions. Also an update on my cat Anton, he is doing better and finally gaining some weight. The tweed shawl I am wearing is the Picabeau shawl.
The book this episode is The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.
Greetings! 'Tis the season when I can't resist transferring all of my projects into Christmas bags. And there's a bunch of them : )
I also have my finished spinning to show you, and thanks to my friend Heidi, some enabling.
The book this week is The Wise Woman by George MacDonald.
(I recorded this episode before I found out about the local tragedy that has taken place in Texas. My heart is broken for all the victims and their families.)
Finished objects this week:
The top it hat
Mitered Hanging Dish Towel
WIPs:
3 Color Cashmere Shawl
Garter Goodness Shawl
Baby Yoked Cardigan
Nate's Hoodie
Stash
This week I talk a little bit about cultivating your stash to fit who you are as a knitter.
Book this Week:
Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake
These last two weeks have been really busy with family life stuff, but I did do a little fun playing in my stash. This week I randomly closed my eyes and picked two different skeins from my yarn hive and cast on projects with each of them. It was a fun way to bring some spontaneity into my knitting since I am such a planner.
I have lots of great creepy books for you this week, one that I’ve read and two that I’m in the middle of. The “official” book is Rebecca by Daphne de Maurier.
Hope you all have a fantastic week!
Thanks for watching! This week, I talk about knits that are easy compared to knits that are engaging and draw you in and make you want to work on them more and more.
I also talk about socks, and life updates, and a Japanese Festival I went to this weekend with my family.
Book reviews this week are for Woman in Black by Susan Hill and Thornhill by Pam Smy.
The podcast currently has 100 episodes available.
