Books: Authors and Agents

My special guest this episode is author Parker Peevyhouse. She has been writing since she was young and is the proud winner of a writing contest held and judged by RL Stine. I’m a little bit jealous. Our interview dives into her writing process, how she comes up with the amazing and unique ideas for her novels, her journey to finding an agent which shows that sometimes third time’s the charm.

This episode features @aprilmwoodard who is the amazing author behind THE AEON CHRONICLES. The second book is the series is coming out soon and if you haven't read the first one - you're WAY behind. April is such an amazing author-friend to have and I'm so lucky to have been able to chat with her.

Tune in and get to know the author of DIVE SMACK - Demetra Brodsky.

Theo Mackey only remembers one thing for certain about the fire that destroyed his home: he lit the match.

Sure, it was an accident. But the blaze killed his mom and set his dad on a path to self-destruction. Everything else about that fateful night is full of gaping holes in Theo’s mind, for good reason. Maybe it’s better that way. As captain of the Ellis Hollow Diving Team, with straight A's and solid friends, he's only one semester away from securing a scholarship, and leaving his past behind.

But when a family history project gets assigned at school, new memories come rushing to the surface, memories that make him question what he really knows about his family, the night of the fire, and if he can trust anyone—including himself.

I've been feeling like an impostor in writer's clothing lately so listen in to hear my thoughts about WHY. Rae DelBianco is my special guest today and she is incredible. Don't forget to check out her debut novel ROUGH ANIMALS on June 5, 2018.

Get to know Emily R King and the third novel in her series THE ROGUE QUEEN.

Get to know the lovely Julia Lynn Rubin and her debut novel - BURRO HILLS. If you haven't read it, what are you waiting for?

It’s Wednesday and I don’t think anything else is going on today so it seemed like a good night for a NEW EPISODE of The Rose Quinn Podcast! This episode features one of my BFF’s - SK Murphy. Hear us ramble on about all things love triangles, how they make us pull out our hair but why we still love them. ALSO, my fav book of the week is FURYBORN by Claire Legrand.

This episode is all about villains! How to write the BEST villains and some of my favorite TV villains. My favorite book of the week is THE HUNDREDTH QUEEN by Emily R. Black. The guest this week is Michael Lee Morrison who talks to us about his debut novel THE BAETYLUS STONE.

In this episode: I talk about how important it is to be a reader in addition to being a writer. You can learn a lot about storytelling and how to improve your own writing from reading. Also, hear more about my favorite book of the week, THE LAST GIRL and a review of JANE STEELE. The guest this week is the LOVELY Andrea Dunlop and she shares her journey as an author with us. Her novel SHE REGRETS NOTHING comes out February 6, 2018. Go buy it!

So your first draft is done? You've finished and now you're wondering how to attack the mountain of pages in front of you. Well, let me tell you how I go about attacking the revising process. AND My friend Abigail Carlson joins me and we chat about how much goes into world building and how we may be too impatient for this publishing biz.
