Shoremates,
Welcome to the final chapter in this book, The Law of Contribution, John Maxwell's 15th Law in his book, the 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth.
In this episode, we talk about how the greatest thing we can do in life is contribute to others. That it is through this contribution that we make the biggest impact in life.
There are two different ways to look at life. One is to view it as a reservoir. You only have so much water, and you need to guard it carefully, as you’ll never know when you need it. The other way is to look at life as a river. There will always be an influx of water, and therefore you are always making a contribution. You’re not afraid to give to others. It is not a mistake that this Law, the law of contribution, is part of John’s rules for personal growth, for it is by giving to others that you’ll see significant growth. It is a transformation from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset.
In this episode, we cover questions to ask yourself in being a good mentor, cover several recommendations for how to contribute, and then go through a summary of the previous 14 laws.
Action Items:
- Up to this point in life, have you been more of the giver, or more of the taker? How much do you contribute on a daily basis?
- What comes first in your life: goals and dreams, or people?
- What can you do in your life moving forward to ensure you’re living a life of contribution and generosity?
Shoremates, congratulations. Together we have come to the conclusion of the 15 invaluable laws of growth by John C. Maxwell.
