  • Episode 10: Chat with YA author JPC Allen about her suspense novel, A Shadow On the Snow: Rae Riley Mysteries Book 1 -- part 2

    Welcome back for part 2!

We're delighted to introduce you to Mt. Zion Ridge Press author JPC Allen, who first brought us Rae Riley in a short story in the MZRP Christmas anthology. Rae Riley is a young woman on a quest to find the truth about her mother's past, and identify the man who tried to kill her before Rae was born. The problem is that same man could be her unknown father.

In A Shadow on the Snow, Rae has found her father, and been welcomed into his family with open arms. But someone who has a grudge against her mother is now targeting Rae to make her pay for her mother's shady past. Rae fears she will lose her new family if they know about her problems, so she tries to solve the mystery on her own.

We had a lot of fun digging into the background details of the book, Jennifer's writing process, and plans for future stories featuring Rae and her new family. We think you'll enjoy this chat, too.

  • Episode 2: Bettie Boswell discussing "Free to Love," part 2

Welcome back to our discussion of the new split-time novel, "Free to Love," with Mt. Zion Ridge Press author Bettie Boswell.

  • Episode 01: Inaugural Episode. Interviewing Bettie Boswell, author of "Free to Love." Part 1.

Welcome to the inaugural episode of Books on the Ridge.

Today's guest is Mt. Zion Ridge Press author Bettie Boswell, discussing her new release as of July 1: "Free to Love," a story that flows between past and present.

Bettie's previous titles with Mt. Zion Ridge Press include "On Cue," which "Free to Love" can be considered a prequel to, and her short story, "Henry's Gift," which appeared in "From the Lake to the River," an anthology of stories set in Ohio, by Ohio authors.

While "On Cue" tells the story of the production of a historical musical, and the romance between the author/composer and the director, "Free to Love" follows the heroine as she researches her play about the Underground Railroad. She learns about the lives of two young women: Early, a slave in Alabama, and her mistress, Missy.

This is Part 1. Part 2 will be available next Monday -- all Books on the Ridge podcasts will release on Monday.

    Thanks for joining us!
