Authors become attached to their writing just like parents to children. The characters created can seem like close friends—or enemies. Part of a writer’s life, their history and personal experience, goes into crafting their tale. It can be daunting sharing a book with the world, a book that is judged. One that is loved, or hated. Read and re-read, or cast aside and guess what, a book doesn’t even need to be written for mass market, it can truly be something personal.

Desiree Duffy speaks to Science Fiction author of "Mostly Human" Lon Varnadore about the fundamental questions asked by all Science Fiction writers.  With the promise of space travel looming, how would our lives be impacted?  Could human beings emotionally adapt to life in space?

At one time Celeste embarked on studying to become a lawyer, but her professor cautioned her that she would not make a living at it because her love for helping others would prevent her from charging them for her labor. She discovered that she had a love for writing, and during her second semester she wrote a Science Fiction novel. This led her to enroll in a Creative Writing class to access her potential as a creative writer.

Laurel Anne Hill grew up in San Francisco, California, with more dreams of adventure than good sense or money. Her close brushes with death, love of family, respect for honor and belief in a higher power continue to influence her writing and her life. She has authored two award-winning novels: The Engine Woman’s Light (Sand Hill Review Press), a gripping spirits-meet-steampunk tale, and Heroes Arise (KOMENAR Publishing).
