Michael Hingson was working on the 78th floor of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, when everything changed. Blind since birth, Michael relied on his guide dog, Roselle, as they made their way down 78 floors and out of the tower.

But Thunder Dog is about much more than escaping the World Trade Center. It’s a story about trust, independence, fear, the relationship between a guide dog and her handler, and what happens when the person everyone assumes needs help is sometimes the calmest person in the room.
