Jerry wonders how many of the highest-paid pitchers in baseball are actually earning their money. Boomer has a problem with how Max Scherzer pitched but even more with how he acted. Boomer runs through the Mets issues and says losing Edwin Diaz was more impactful than anyone realized at the time. He was the “soul” of the Mets. C-Lo returns for an update and the guys detail their recent injuries. John Sterling couldn’t believe the game Jake Meyers had for the Astros on Sunday. Has Giancarlo Stanton been worth what the Yankees are paying him? Aaron Boone defended Stanton not running on Saturday. Whether it’s Stanton or Luis Rojas, someone messed up on that play. New Yankee reliever Kenyan Middleton torched his old White Sox team and their lack of rules. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer and Jerry discuss 50,000 Eagles fans showing up to watch a training camp practice. Carson Wentz is still unsigned. It’s been some fall for him since being the frontrunner for the MVP. Jalen Hurts and Daniel Jones both cashed in big time after proving themselves last year.

Hour 1:

Boomer is back after over a week off and Jerry returns as well after missing last week. A lot has happened since they were last here. The Jets played in the Hall of Fame game and Boomer was happy to see Joe Klecko have his well-deserved moment. Jerry was in Texas last week and got to witness first-hand how big the Justin Verlander news was in Houston. He was also surprised how much more attention baseball was getting down there compared to football. Training camp isn’t what it used to be. Mekhi Becton barely played Thursday but that’s ok. Anthony Rizzo didn’t say anything about his concussion symptoms. Is it fair to blame the Yankees for not noticing something was wrong? Boomer has a more optimistic overall view of the Yankees. They’ve dealt with a ton of injuries but are still somehow over .500. C-Lo is in for Jerry and Boomer reiterates how incredible it is that the Yankees have won as many games as they have this season despite so many injuries. A lot happened in yesterday’s Yankees loss to the Astros and Jerry said fans in Houston aren’t afraid of the Yankees. In fact, they mock them. Giancarlo Stanton had an embarrassing play on Saturday when he didn’t run heading to the plate from 3rd base. Carlos Rodon was awful and is hurt again. Harrison Bader isn’t concerned about the team at all. The Mets haven’t won since the trade deadline. Jose Ramirez knocked Tim Anderson down in a brawl. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry shares a story of meeting a fan of the show in Houston. Stugotz left Boomer a note volunteering to fill in whenever Gio is out…but what about Jerry? Jerry reviews the ballparks in Houston and Arlington.

Hour 1:

Stugotz is in for Boomer again today. It’s a feel good Friday but Gio is already dreading the ride home since it’s a Friday which means there’s a ton more traffic. After the show yesterday, Stugotz got high and walked around lower Manhattan then got drinks with friends last night. DeMarcus Ware sang the National Anthem at the Hall of Fame Game and Gio said it was terrible. Oh, and Darrelle Revis got fat. C-Lo is in for Jerry and is here for his first update, but first Stugotz got his own hotel room, not knowing the company got him one. Giancarlo Stanton homered last night as the yankees beat the Astros. Anthony Rizzo has been suffering concussion symptoms since May 28th and will finally go on the IL. Rizzo met the media to discuss his symptoms since then. Justin Verlander talked about his whirlwind time with the Mets and how strange it feels going back to Houston. The Jets lost to the Browns in the Hall of Fame Game but Zach Wilson did complete a 57 yard pass. Mekhi Becton talked about having pain some days and not others. In the final segment of the hour, The Dan Le Batard Show played audio of Stugotz from WFAN saying he wants to work there and how he can bring in advertising. We also talked about Dan in Carteret being mad at us for something Al said and something Gio said. 

Hour 2:

Former President of the Marlins, David Samson, joins us to talk about the Mets and Yankees issues. Many people blame him every time Giancarlo Stanton stinks. He gave us reasons for why we should be upset with Steve Cohen and why you shouldn’t be upset with him. He said Steve Cohen will absolutely be in on Shohei Ohtani. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with the Yankees beating the Astros last night. Anthony Rizzo talked about the concussion symptoms he’s been suffering from since May 28. Justin Verlander talked about the difficulty of being traded in season. Ohtani hit his 40th HR. The Jets lost in the Hall of Fame Game but Zach Wilson did complete a 57 yard pass. Mekhi Becton wasn’t happy with the turf at the game. In the final segment of the hour, Stugotz went to a bunch of Dead and Co. shows and was in charge of buying all of the tickets and booking all of the hotels. He had no idea you had to transfer money out of Venmo to your checking account. 

Hour 3:

Eddie is going to Iceland in the middle of next week. We somehow got into how Joe Benigno and Bill Belichick became friends. But now, Bill doesn’t respond to Joe’s calls or texts. Gio has a hard time becoming friends with people who are somewhat famous like NFL coaches. Gio goes through his phone to see who’s number he has that’s somewhat famous. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with Billy McKinney hitting a HR as the Yankees beat the Astros. Chris Russo and Stephen A. Smith had an issue saying IKF’s name. We ran through all of Eddie’s drops involving Russo mispronouncing things. DeMarcus Ware explains why he sang the National Anthem last night. In the final segment of the hour, Gio once called in to the Dan Le Batard Show for the ‘looks like’ segment.
