Jerry asks if there’s been any positive moves made by Billy Eppler. Peter returns for an update but first explains how he’s hoping for a “Summer of Schwartz”. The Mets lost again. They stink. Buck Showalter said they need to win. Simple enough. Peter digs deep for more stories. In today’s Moment of the Day, Peter will have a chance to ruin a cab driver’s life. In the final segment of the show, Gio finds out that Jerry has no interest in watching the potential Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckerberg fight. Jerry doubts the fight will draw that many pay-per-view buyers. What are the most memorable fights they’ve ever watched? Gio loves “Black Mirror”.

A taxi driver named AJ called to explain what the next step will be in Peter’s complaint to 3-1-1. Peter will have a chance to ruin the guy’s life.

Hour 3:

Gio and Jerry want the Knicks to make a big move and wonder if Damian Lillard should be their top target. Would Lillard or another top player want to come to the Knicks? Our old pal Radhames calls in to defend Peter. Radhames lives in Houston now and Jerry is heading to Texas in August. Peter returns for an update but first Gio shares some reactions to his taxi story. Gio wants Peter to become the “sports cowboy”. The Mets lost for the 16th time in their last 21 games. Peter revisits Rex’s classic “snack” speech from Hard Knocks in 2010 because they’ll probably be back on it later this summer. In the final segment of the hour, Gio asks about the TV show “The Bear” and recalls working with Dov Kramer back in the day. Jerry wonders if it was better to be a high-paid athlete now or a few decades ago? Does Kate Upton pay attention to the Mets? It doesn’t even feel like Justin Verlander is a Met.

Hour 2:

Gio is surprised Jerry is working July 4th. Al was stuck on the tarmac yesterday and Gio wants to hear the story tomorrow and says that’s as bad as it gets. The Jets are “bracing” to be forced to do Hard Knocks and Gio doesn’t think it’s that bad, so why are the Jets so reluctant to do it? Gio says Aaron Rodgers and the Jets need to embrace the attention. Gio’s biggest takeaway from the last few seasons of Hard Knocks was Jared Goff’s fiance. Peter returns for an update but first Gio asks about his taste in music and says he shouldn’t assume what kind of music people are into. The guys guess the first concert Peter Schwartz went to. Drew Smith hung a meatball and the Mets lost 2-1. Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo tried to figure out the math for the Mets to make the playoffs and it did not go well. Gio tries to get Peter Schwartz into country music. In the final segment of the hour, Peter Schwartz shares the full story of his taxi cab ride gone wrong and 3-1-1 call. Gio and Jerry agree. Chalk it up as a loss, do something fun with your own time and move on. A caller who works for the city and has to investigate these calls to 3-1-1 chimes in. A longtime driver then calls and explains how the city will resolve Peter’s complaint. Peter will not take the driver to court and Gio imagines an episode of The People’s Court about this.

Hour 1:

Gio thinks we’re only paying attention to the hapless Mets because there’s nothing else going on. Jerry says things just keep going wrong for the Mets. Gio says that is true but the team put themselves in a position where they have no margin for error. It’s been the same story for weeks and it doesn’t feel like that will change at any point this season. Gio says the Mets are a waste of our time and wonders if everybody else is done with them like he is. Jerry agrees that the Mets are irrelevant. Hour 1:

The Mets potentially hit rock bottom on Sunday in the midst of what might be their most embarrassing season ever. Boomer says a different member of the team finds a way to cost the team just about every single night. The bullpen is a disaster. We thought the days of the Mets being a laughingstock were over but not so fast. Gio is emotionally detached and says let’s get all of the pain out of the way this year. Gio says today has to be the day that they start a turnaround or he doesn’t want to hear from fans. Everyone is to blame, not just one person. Boomer doesn’t think Gio sounds emotionally detached. Gio says the Mets are done and should be focusing on making sure this doesn’t happen again next year. Jerry is here for his first update and now has two black eyes following his golf incident on Thursday. Boomer told that story to a lot of people over the weekend. Gio thinks it sounds like Boomer is disappointed Jerry survived. Jerry starts with the good which means the Yankees, who beat the Rangers Sunday to take 2 out of 3. Harrison Bader came through in the 8th inning. Josh Donaldson rode the bench this weekend and had a long meeting with Aaron Boone Sunday. Then Jerry gets to the bad: the clown show Mets. Gio and Jerry agree that Carlos Carrasco’s poor performance is a bigger part of the story. In the final segment of the hour, Gio tells the story of his weekend running in an event honoring Michael Murphy. The one-eyed pilot from Friday calls back to share a story of a friend having a heart attack at the Masters.

Hour 2:

Boomer shares his advice for Aaron Judge: go get a second opinion. Gio agrees that Judge sounds frustrated and all of a sudden, a return this season is in question. Boomer recently had a cold therapy device sent to him and unboxes it. The note says it can help Boomer while he watches the Mets woes continue. Did Gio get sick from his daughters or from a porta-a-potty? If the Yankees get Judge back and have a healthy rotation plus this bullpen, look out. The names change but the Yankees know how to stay afloat throughout tough regular seasons. Jerry returns for an update but first has to set up Boomer’s therapy machine. The Yankees came from behind to beat the Rangers and take 2 of 3 in the series. Aaron Boone explained Josh Donaldson’s benching and what he expects moving forward. Carlos Rodon made another rehab start. The Mets bullpen melted down in Philly. Should Buck have used his top relievers? Did Brett Baty’s error cost the Mets the game? Boomer says the Mets need to follow Bill Belichick’s simple mantra: Do your job. Boomer wonders why the Knicks and Josh Hart agreed to an extension on his option. Gio thinks it’s to help the team AND the player. The guys reminisce on previous Travelers and Gio reveals which golfer he does not like. Travis Kelce warns Ja’Marr Chase not to disrespect Patrick Mahomes. The Florida Gators broke the record for most runs scored in a College World Series game. In the final segment of the hour, Gio explains how things work at home when he is sick. Is it unreasonable for Yankees fans to be frustrated considering the injuries and the team’s record? Gio says the team did what fans wanted in DFAing Aaron Hicks and benching Josh Donaldson. A caller is trying to develop her psychic ability. What would Gio do if he won the lottery?

Hour 3:

Boomer has thoughts on Al going on vacation to Indiana. Mets fans are not happy and want to see people with the team get fired. Boomer and Gio wonder if that would actually solve anything. Gio says pump the brakes on giving Hal and Cashman credit for the way they address the media and fans. Boomer reminds everyone that Steve Cohen did address the team’s situation two weeks ago. Gio says there isn’t much the Mets can do and this is why they needed to do something with the opportunity they had last year. This has a chance to be the most embarrassing season in the history of baseball. Jerry returns for an update and begins with the Yankees comeback victory. Boomer thinks the Yankees are trying to spare Josh Donaldson from playing in front of booing Yankees fans. Carlos Rodon should be back very soon. The Mets imploded and the Phillies broadcasters were laughing at how pathetic the Mets meltdown was. Daniel Jones jumped on stage to sing with Zach Bryan. In the final segment of the hour, Gio asks if this was the worst month of June we’ve ever had, weather wise. A caller from Omaha tells us all about the atmosphere surrounding the College World Series. Is eating money to unload Max Scherzer or Justin Verlander an option for the Mets? Boomer doesn’t think so. LSU fans are dominating a jello shot contest in Omaha.

Hour 4:

The Mets are drawing some comparisons to the Brooklyn Nets and that is not a good thing. The Nets had off-the-court drama but the Mets have a bigger fanbase. Does that change which team is more embarrassing? Gio points out how things could have been even worse had they landed some players they were interested in. Something is off with this team. Are there problems in the clubhouse? The guys both don’t have a problem with Buck taking Carrasco out after 4 innings but Gio would have used Robertson in the 8th. Gio says that looking up and down the roster, it’s still hard to comprehend how the Mets are this bad. Jerry returns for an update and shows everyone a video of Al on a seesaw. The Yankees came back in the 8th inning to beat the Rangers. Josh Donaldson isn’t happy about being benched. The Mets Mets’d real hard in Philly. Antonio Brown said the kinds of things Antonio Brown usually says on Tyreek Hill’s podcast. In today’s Moment of the Day, Boomer and Gio fantasize about different station employees meeting their end. In the final segment of the show, Gio calls out Peter Schwartz for calling 3-1-1 unnecessarily. Boomer says chaos somehow follows Peter around.
