Boomer & Gio

Boomer was impressed with Michael Penix Jr, coming back from his injury. He said this is what we can hope from Jaxson Dart.

Today on the show, we break down the biggest storylines across the NFL, from the Giants' thin quarterback situation and Jaxson Dart’s injury timeline to Jameis Winston preparing to start against Tennessee amidst podcast criticism. We cover the Jets heading to Detroit, Mike Macdonald's off-the-air comments about Sean Payton, Geno Smith sizing up the Lions, and Robert Saleh on Cam Skattebo. Over in baseball, we react to Vlad Guerrero Jr.'s contract remarks, Brandon Nimmo reflecting on leaving the Mets, Ben Rice reaching 41 home runs, and Aaron Judge's return timeline for the Wild Card series.

We start with the Jaxson Dart injury and Tiki Barber's annoyance over focusing on an inactive player, before touching on the Jets visiting Detroit and an incoming weekend nor'easter. Tiki gets worked up and curses over Giants fans giving up on the season, Jerry arrives for his first update, and a caller asks about tipping at Top Golf. We then hear John Harbaugh's timeline and Tiki calling Dart "irrelevant," Ben Rice reaching 41 home runs, Aaron Judge's status for Tuesday, and Anthony in Belleville calling out Jerry for drinking milk with pizza.

We discuss Vladimir Guerrero Jr. claiming his huge contract is for past performance, before Jerry updates us on John Harbaugh addressing Jaxson Dart’s injury, Jameis Winston taking it one game at a time, and Dan Campbell assessing Aaron Glenn as a head coach. Glenn notes his familiarity with Detroit, Ben Rice smashes homers 40 and 41, Aaron Judge plans his Wild Card return, and Brandon Nimmo compares leaving the Mets to a breakup. To close, Gio argues Winston should lock in instead of hosting a podcast, prompting backlash from Winston’s co-host.

We start with controversy involving Mike Macdonald and Sean Payton over a conversation Macdonald thought was off the air with Graham Bensinger. Jerry returns with updates on Jameis Winston playing for a Super Bowl, Geno Smith needing to match the Lions’ scoring, and the Commanders denying they didn't care about Jayden Daniels getting hurt. After hearing Jerry’s off-camera audio of Macdonald, we cover Ben Rice’s two home runs, Aaron Judge’s return timeline, and a caller noting Eddie The Picks Jockey’s appearance on Barstool Pick’em.

We start with the Giants' thin quarterback situation and Boomer outlining roster options, before Jerry returns for an update following Gio’s trip upstairs to coffee "shangri-la." We hear Jameis Winston on starting against Tennessee, Robert Saleh on how the Niners almost drafted Cam Skattebo, and Aaron Judge on his return timeline. To wrap up, we cover a Rays exec walking to Yankee Stadium from Manhattan, Gregg Popovich finding love for the Moment of the Day, and Don from Island Wide Weather breaking down the weekend storm.

Don from Island Wide Weather called in to talk about the weekend storm.

Boomer says they're going in light against the Titans and offers some options for them.
