Highlights 

(16:44) We are trying to understand human beings because data science is nothing else but to affect some change in the real world which affects humans and if we don't understand their priorities, it's a moot point. 

(25:20) Well, there's bias and the goal is to reduce it so if you're talking about bias and problem framing, the first thing I do is say close your laptop just don't even look at it and the second thing I highly recommend is a whiteboard, just hashing through the problems that you're trying to solve using some low-tech method like a whiteboard without looking at the data.  

(28:54) It's a little frightening in some ways... especially I get a little nervous when I think about like cognitive computing and programs that are programming like machines talking to machines and when the human element gets sort of left out of the entire equation quite literally, sometimes that makes me a little nervous for our future because I want to make sure that that the black box is a solid one and then it's a good one and it's an ethical one.
