It's 2021 and we're off to a flyer. Locked down? Stuck at home? Grab a few 'brewskis' and join us for an hour of talking about the markets, beer, and a deep insight into what the f*** is going on in the world. We talk bitcoin booming, inflation thinking, Weimer Republics and Strictly Come Dancing!
Reviews from the North Brew Co. some German Beer from Audi HQ and some of Scotland's finest...Booze, Booms & Busts Episode 28 is ready for you now!
It's the last episode of 2020, so what better way to wind it up than with some deep philosophical musings, a consideration about what Anglo-America might be and a splattering of beers from all over the world. We talk bitcoin, Brexit, UK/US relationships and even consider what life is like when we're all uploaded to the cloud.
And of course, beer reviews from some of the best beer brewers in the world! Even one that gets a BB+ – close to our highest possible rating ever!
We won't lie, it's the time of the year when we're taking a break from the normal 'grind' of the markets, so we've been a little disconnected this week (Sam even bought a Nokia 'feature phone') We still have plenty to talk about including a billion dollars of bitcoin for Saylor, is Musk next? Why does a 3kg turkey mean British exports are in a trading halt, and what next for 2021? The answer? Inflation!
We also review beer as usual including, Pants Optional, Repeater, Wild Rhino and Elf Isolation. All that and more on Episode 26 of Booze, Booms & Busts
It's somewhat of a milestone, our 25th show, and to celebrate what better way than with the most bonkers and bemusing IPO in recent history – Airbnb! What do we make of the wild valuations of these new tech 'Leprechauns' as we coin the phrase of a former tech 'Unicorn' IPOing at $100 billion valuations? Also why is this happening and should we re-write the fundamental rules of finance because of it?
All that and beer reviews of course – after all it's all about the Booze, the Booms and the Busts on the Booze, Booms and Busts podcast,
In Episode 24 of Booze, Booms and Busts – we've (well, Sam at least) has made it. We're in a 'hit piece' aimed (kind of) at us from the Financial Times. It's about crypto, but that's okay, the mainstream will come around...we also talk about the most important thing of 2020, do you get the Covid-19 vaccine jab or not? What to do? And is the UN relevant or not relevant and will their move on medicinal cannbis shift the market up a notch?
All that and more beer reviews including our much anticipated 'Quantitative Ease' from Cheddar Ales and more Swedish beers from Boaz!
In episode 23 of Booze, Booms & Busts we delve into the nostalgic history of the great NBA Jam, how Bitcoin and the crypto world is seemingly booming again and why perhaps the next narrative to come of it all may just be DeFi.
We talk about Boaz's time in Stockholm and leave you with the perplexities of the land where Christmas never stops and why Tesla's epic run may never stop?
Of course we review some beer too, this week from Wye Valley Brewery, Vocation Brewery and two more Swedish breweries that for the life of me I don't know how to spell – intrigue awaits!
In our 22nd episode we have to look at the blatantly obvious, the single biggest company announcement perhaps in history moving global markets likely in the trillions – the 'Pfizer effect' – and the real vaccine the markets needed...positivity.
We also consider is pension reform coming to the UK and why is Bitcoin now on a seemingly endless run up close to previous all time highs?
We also review beer from Magic Rock Brewing, Lost and Grounded and some more random Swedish tipples Boaz has accumulated from the state-sponsored liquor stores in Stockholm.
All that and more in Episode 22 of Booze, Booms & Busts!
Hate lockdowns? Hate the government? Well, do what our very own Boaz Shoshan does, move to Sweden! In the lap of freedom Boaz explains about the Swedish alcohol quirks, we discuss the US Presidential race and how the future of transacting, trading and currency markets could be all about crypto.
We also review beers from Northern Monk, Lost and Grounded Brewery and a bunch of Swedish beers that are all 3.5% and...well...a mixed bag (let's leave it at that!)
Episode 21 of Booze, Booms & Busts awaits.
In this week's Booze, Booms & Busts we talk about the morality of investing when shit has hit the proverbial fan, what a kakistocracy is and how the money from the big dogs in town has started to flow into bitcoin and what that's going to do to its value.
We also review beers from Braybrook Brewery, Anspach & Hobday, Whiplash Brewery and Pressure Drop! Also we announce our much awaited beer production collaboration for the 'Quantitative Ease DIPA'...
All this and more on Episode 20 of Booze, Booms & Busts
In this week's Booze, Booms & Busts it's happened for just the third time in history! Bitcoin is over £10,000. Astonishing stuff. Aside from the questions that raises about money, assets and trust in the banking system it's just a huge concept to know even own just one ₿. Also if you think that's a monster ride for ₿ holders, think about the Monster ride shareholders of Monster Beverages have had in the last couple of decades...a monster of a stock, and perhaps one for the next 50 years?
All that and more, plus beer reviews of the Durst Crusher, Wheat Meet Again, Kreiking Morello and 50 degrees north four degrees eat – this is after all a show where we drink beer and talk investing!
