In this episode, I chat with Maxine Higgins the founder of Strong Women of God and Bravely Rise. Strong Women of God is an online community that encourages, teaches, and highlights women of God. Her organization bravely Rise provides retreats for women who have struggled with a difficult past. She has a heart for women and uses her platform to encourage other women to release the lies spoken over them and step into the truth of who God is calling them to be. In addition to discussing her organizations, we also had a great conversation about building a community of women, how to navigate friendships, and how to move past hurt from a friendship. This conversation was such a great way to end our series on 'Friendships'. To contact Maxine Higgins - On IG strongwomen_of_god

Hey ya'll!!
In this episode, we are diving a little deeper into the expectations we have of our friends and how to communicate them in a way that does not leave them feeling pressured. It's true that we all have expectations. We may not all communicate them, but we have them, and we inevitably judge people based on them. Doesn't seem fair right? To judge someone for expectations we haven't communicated. You know the old "if you're my real friend you would know". We do that a lot not just in our friendships but in our other relationships.
Join me as I discuss the 2 things you should do before you share your expectations; 1) Understand what you are looking for in friendship & 2) Assess the friendships you have to determine what realistically the expectations should be. Then we chat about easy ways to communicate these expectations.

In this episode, I recorded my first live podcast with a few of my friends to celebrate this milestone. It was my turn to be interviewed (which was a little uncomfortable). I don't always celebrate my accomplishments because I'm busy just trying to get stuff done and I often don't think it's necessary to celebrate if I haven't reached the end goal. But that's not true! I have to celebrate the steps along the way.
My husband hosted and my girlfriends joined the call to share their thoughts about the importance of women celebrating women.

Setting boundaries in friendships, dealing with the loss of a friendship and developing new adult relationships. Dr. Sampson gives tips on how to develop positive friendships and understanding that some relationships are seasonal. She believes that life is a continuous promotion and demotion of people and how it's up to us to discern the type of relationship we are in. We can make the necessary adjustments in love. Dr. La'Tesha Sampson is the founder and owner of Great Joy Counseling in Westfield, NJ. In this episode, I discuss how every day is a fight for me to believe in my ability to do the things I have been called to. I've often been in conversations where people express their admiration about the things that I have accomplished. When truthfully, I'm just holding on like everyone else. I seriously must have quit over 1000 times in my mind (and literally on some days). I've learned that my mindset is so key in my ability to show up, but more importantly me understanding that my faith is what anchors my ability to realign my thoughts towards positive outcomes.

In this episode, we discuss how Dr. Rhonda Antoine has been able to be Successfully Single while giving herself the grace to grow. Initially, I reached out to Rhonda to discuss her first year as a landlord - the ups and downs. But soon after reading her bio, I knew we had to discuss so much more. How often do you meet an Afro-Caribean American Educator who has no student loan debt(with a Doctorates degree), has real estate investments, has fostered a child, and has traveled a good bit of the world all before the age of 30? I needed to know how she was able to accomplish so much so early in life. But I also wanted to talk with her about the season of singleness she has been navigating. She has learned to grow gracefully even in the midst of the wait. This conversation was so much fun and I'm sure you will walk away with some useful nuggets.
