Holy Cow! We haven't recorded since 2020. We are reunited and it feels so good. Emma Pettersson, Winnie Nemeth, and Ashley Tetrick chat about the changes Covid has brought to them, how they coped through lock downs, and whatever other nonsense they decided to chat about. These BossMares are back recording after a small hiatus. All are so how affiliated with Harness Racing. If you are new to BossMares feel free to check out seasons 1-3!
Winnie Nemeth, Ashley Tetrick, and Emma Pettersson share their recent palate changes regarding all things, wine, champagne, beer, and cocktails. Following cocktail talk, they divulge their most embarrassing moments. I promise you may "pee your pants" laughing at this episode.
Raising HORSE kids is no easy feat, but it certainly is the best way to raise them. Winnie and Ashley chat about being girl moms, forcing our kids to travel all the time, and what little ladies they have turned out to be (sometimes). Winnie shares information about her oldest daughter Clara's path to Texas A&M and how showing horses assisted her path to a NCAA D1 school. She also gives advice about how to set us a path for your kid if they are considering going the collegiate show route.
If you have ever bred a Standardbred, at one point you have probably spoke to Gunjan Patel on the phone. This strong and incredibly intelligent woman's voice may totally fool you. Although she is large in personality and work ethic, you may be shocked when you meet her and see how much talent is in such a small package. As the Syndicate Administer and Social Media Coordinator at Hanover Shoe Farm, photographer, owner of an ETSY shop Beauty of Horses, and staking company Strong Finish Staking, Gunjan is one of the most respected ladies in the Standardbred breeding business.
As one of the very few female broadcasters in the harness racing industry Emily Gaskin has taken her position at Harrah's Hoosier Park and seriously ran with it. You may recognize her voice but today we are going to get to know this horse loving, UK Grad a little better, and get down to who she is on the inside. I have to be honest, you won't be disappointed.
Anna Ford is the Thoroughbred Program Director of New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program. She oversees the New Vocations location at Mereworth Farm in Lexington, Ky and launched their $1.7 million capital campaign. Anna just so happens to be Winnie's younger sister, so we dig into a little bit of that too.
Sara Cunningham joins us to chat about her career as an Equine Insurance agent. After 45 years of her father running Tom Cunningham Livestock, Sara and TC have now evolved their business to be partners of Cunningham & Cunningham Livestock. Sara chats about managing her kids, family, and business and how her passion for horses fueled her career.
Stacy Chiodo joins us to chat about being a horsewoman, her career with Bruce Springsteen, and her heart attack at 23 years old.
Join us as we chat with fellow Boss Mare and Amatuer Harness Driver Hannah Miller. Hannah talks about her roots as a successful horseman's daughter and how she has evolved into a great horseman in her own right.
Surrounding yourself with amazing women is the key to success, so we asked our good friend Susan Skinner to join us. We all sit back and chat about being horse woman, moms, friends, and life..... We hope you enjoy getting to know Susan Skinner!!
