President Barack Obama pressured Congress on Wednesday to move quickly to address the massive influx of children at the border, and he aimed to deflect mounting criticism over his administration’s attention to the issue.
He hailed the efforts of Dallas County officials and religious groups to help care for up to 2,000 children.
And he called pointedly on Texas Republicans to help Congress move quickly on the White House’s request for an emergency $3.7 billion.
“The problem here is not a major disagreement around the actions that could be helpful in dealing with the problem,”  “The only question at this point is why wouldn’t the Texas delegation or any of the other Republicans who are concerned about this not want to put this on a fast track?”
Obama’s call for action came as children continue to flood into Texas from Central America. More than 50,000 unaccompanied immigrants or families have been caught entering the U.S. illegally from Mexico in the last nine months, most from Honduras, Guatemala or El Salvador. The White House has said most will ultimately be deported.Dallas Morning News

  • Impeachment
It’s time to impeach; and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment. The many impeachable offenses of Barack Obama can no longer be ignored. If after all this he’s not impeachable, then no one is.Sarah Palin

  • Pat Buchanan's GOP
“From Day One, Nixon and I talked about creating a new majority,” what we talked about, basically, was shearing off huge segments of F.D.R.’s New Deal coalition, which L.B.J. had held together: Northern Catholic ethnics and Southern Protestant conservatives—what we called the Daley-Rizzo Democrats in the North and, frankly, the Wallace Democrats in the South.” Pat Buchanan (The Fall of Conservatism Have the Republicans run out of ideas? by George Packer May 26, 2008)

  • Land of Cotton Mississippi
Austin Barbour of Cochran campaign  started the conference call, after a few minutes of talking about working with McDaniel volunteers in the Hinds County(Jackson) courthouse reviewing ballots The call then continued  as various people engaged  about whether the man who interrupted the call was a Cochran plant or “maybe Obama” .  Then a caller referred to African American voter as "cotton pickers for Cochran, They darkly noted that whoever asked the question “wasn’t doing McDaniel no favors” and suggested that it was part of a plot to get the national media to say that McDaniel supporters think African Americans are “cotton-pickers.” Another woman on the call was confused about the harvesting cotton reference, after all she was a 36-year-old white female who had harvested cotton too.
