Britain, America and France are united in their readiness to act and do not require any further United Nations resolution under international law, the Foreign Secretary said. John Kerry, the US secretary of state, described the chemical attack as a “moral obscenity” and warned that Bashar al-Assad, Syria’s president, must face “consequences”.
Syria is too far gone to pick sides,” said Rep. Tom Rooney (R-Fla.), a member of the House Intelligence Committee who taught at West Point. “The rebels are infiltrated with Al Qaeda.Top CIA officials, including the Director of Central Intelligence William J. Casey, a close friend of President Ronald Reagan, were told about the location of Iraqi chemical weapons assembly plants; that Iraq was desperately trying to make enough mustard agent to keep up with frontline demand from its forces; that Iraq was about to buy equipment from Italy to help speed up production of chemical-packed artillery rounds and bombs; and that Iraq could also use nerve agents on Iranian troops and possibly civilians. PRESIDENT Barack Obama sent his thoughts and prayers to the family of slain Australian baseballer Chris Lane.
The Lane's family and friends were going through trying times.
"As the President has expressed on too many tragic occasions, there is an extra measure of evil in an act of violence that cuts a young life short. The President and First Lady's thoughts and prayers are with Chris Lane's family and friends in these trying times,"

  • The Chris Lane Murder
Rachel Padilla was the first person out of the courtroom and looked shocked by the charge levied against her brother.
Padilla is the sister of James Edwards Jr., 15, who was one of two teens charged with murder in the first degree in the shooting death of Australian national Christopher Lane. The other teen was Chancey Luna, 16. A third teen, Michael Jones, 17, faces related charges, including use of a vehicle in the discharge of a weapon and accessory after the fact (murder in the first degree).Padilla said she understood the loss Lane’s family was feeling because she was feeling a similar loss, that of her brother.“I know they’re hurting, but I’m hurting, too,” Padilla said. “Now he can’t wrestle. He can’t play football.”The Rev. Jesse Jackson said in a tweet Wednesday that the killing of an Australian baseball player, allegedly by three Oklahoma teenagers who were bored, is “senseless violence” and should be “frowned upon.”

  • Why Janet Yellen and Why Not Larry Summers
Dr.Yellen has a perfectly solid relationship with Bernanke, as best as I can tell, but she’s more of her own thinker within the institution. She has spent her time as vice chairwoman urging Bernanke and her other fellow policymakers to shift policy to try to do more to combat unemployment, and thinking through ways to do just that.WP
On the other hand Geithner, Summers, Gene Sperling are leftovers from the Clinton past and see as key influential voices advising the president.
And they are Wall Street men.

  • Canadian Ted
Ted Rafael Edward Cruz was born on 22 October 1970 in Calgary, Alberta Canada to Rafael Bienvenido Cruz, a “geophysical consultant” born in Matanzas, Cuba, and the former Eleanor Elizabeth Wilson, born in Wilmington, Del.
“He’s a Canadian,” said Toronto lawyer Stephen Green, past chairman of the Canadian Bar Association’s Citizenship and Immigration Section.
f a child was born in the territory, he is Canadian, period,” said France Houle, a law professor at the University of Montreal. “He can ask for a passport. He can vote.”The fact that Cruz left Canada when he was 4 doesn’t affect his status there, either.“If you leave when you’re 2 minutes old, you’re still an American. It’s the same in Canada,” said Allison Christians, a law professor at McGill University in Montreal. “He’s a Canadian citizen.”
The U.S. Constitution allows only a “natural born” American citizen to serve as president
