The Maine GOP announced Saturday that Romney narrowly edged Ron Paul, 39 percent to 36 percent, in a nonbinding presidential preference poll taken during the caucuses. The margin was fewer than 200 votes.

A number of communities were not included in that poll because they had not held their caucuses in time. Washington County Republicans postponed their caucuses,Bangor DailyNews

President Obama in his State of the Union address this week, President Obama spoke of an economy based on the American values of fairness and shared responsibility. The president said he would work to cut trillions from the federal budget. He also said the wealthiest Americans must pay more in taxes:

President Obama: “Now you can call this class warfare all you want. But asking a billionaire to pay at least as much as his secretary in taxes? Most Americans would call that common sense.”
