Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies, the political committee headed by Republican strategist Karl Rove, released a new television commercial this morning targeting Elizabeth Warren, the first major advertising salvo against the Democratic senate candidate.

Texas Perry in the  presidential debate in Rochester, Mich on Wednesday night said; that he would like to eliminate three government agencies. But as he began to explain, he could think of only two.

“Commerce, Education,” Mr. Perry said, pausing for an uncomfortable moment and looking from side to side as he counted on his fingers and flipped through notes. As his rivals offered suggestions, a moderator asked if he could name the third agency. “I can’t,” he finally said, a sad look on his face.

“Oops,” he said.

Karen Kraushaar a spokeswoman at the Treasury Departmen, one of the two women who settled sexual harassment claims against Herman Cain with the National Restaurant Association, spoke publicly for the first time on Tuesday to the New York Times.

Ms. Kraushaar said she did not know whether or how she might tell more of her story, but had been warming “to the idea of a joint press conference where all of the women would be together with our attorneys and all of this evidence would be considered together  a body of evidence.”.

 A "body of evidence is a matter for a court of law and not a Star Chamber on national TV.

I appreciate the inspector general's responsiveness to our request and the willingness to treat this important matter, and the allegations of conflicts of interest, with the seriousness it deserves. This is a critically important issue for our environment and the energy future of our country.  At a time when all credible scientific evidence and opinion indicate that we are losing the battle against global warming, it is imperative that we have objective environmental assessments of major carbon-dependent energy projects.

The events were confirmed by Curt Anderson of of OnMessage Inc. a  consulting firm recently hired by Texas Perry and Tony Fabrizo the pollster for the Cain 2004 Senate campaign.
