  • Jerry Pippin's Commentary on the 2010 Midterm Election
Jerry Pippin takes a look at the 2010 off year election and the influence of right-wing politics aka the Tea Party. The latest apparent defeat for the Tea Party is in Alaska where Joe Miller is projected the loser by most political pundits with Senator Lisa Murkowski ahead by 1700 votes after the absentee ballots were counted on Monday. Jerry will examine the fiction of the modern media believing that the Tea Party is remaking politics and moving the country to the right. Despite a huge money advantage, many mainstream Democrats were able to hold on to their seats, and others were reelected handily like Barney Frank. The poster boy for this movement against money interest is Governor Jerry Brown of California who defeated the 140 million dollar woman, Meg Whitman and a close running up would be Senator Harry Reid who defeated the well-oiled financially astounding Tea Party candidate Sharron Angle in Nevada.
