Alvin M. Greene, an unemployed veteran won the state’s Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in South Carolinia victory over four-term state legislator Vic Rawl.

Greene’s win was improbable, as he’s never given a campaign speech, doesn’t have a Web site, has no campaign signs and only has $114 in his campaign bank account. Yet, more than 100,000 South Carolinians voted for him.

He will face incumbent Sen. Jim DeMint (R) in

November.

The American Enterprise Institute hosted a discussion on the future of “Tea Party” political groups in Washington DC.

Sen. Blanche Lincoln Democratic runoff Tuesday in Arkansas Gov. Bill Halter by 10,000 votes.

The margin of victory was from the African American voters in the Little Rock area.

Lincoln led in the May 18 146,431 to Halter’s 139,770, which was about 44.5 percent to 42.5 percent for Halter, D.C. Morrison of Little Rock, had 42,689 votes

With 2,383 of 2,388 precincts reporting, the unofficial count was:Lincoln 133,897 Halter 123,490 from last night(Arkansas Democrat)

The race has become a three-way affair between Angle, Lowden and businessman Danny Tarkanian. Angle and Lowden have been the subject of most of the attacks, and Tarkanian hopes he can squeak through.

"It's hard retrospectively, you know, I'm not going to second-guess it right now. That needs a week or two to sit back and reflect what we could have perhaps done to better prepare for all the money that was used in the primary against me," Lowden said.

Polls not yet closed in Ark. but suit has been filed alleging irregularities in Lincoln-Halter contest.
