This week, Pastor Joe launched our new series on generosity called Our Money Story. We all have our own money stories, and often, these are stories we don’t tell. Society has conditioned us to keep money separate from other aspects of our lives, but what if we told our money stories as part of God’s money story? This week, we focus on "remember" and draw from Exodus 16:1-18. 

On today's episode, Pastor Joe sits down with the Rev. Janelle Kurtz, pastor of Snohomish United Methodist Church. Together, they talk about some of the challenges of ministry, the stigma of mental health, and Janelle's own story of navigating postpartum depression.

If that wasn't enough, East End UMC had also just been hit by a major tornado earlier in 2020. This week, Pastor Joe continues our sermon series, Autumn Reflections, by looking to prayer. Drawing from 1 Timothy 2:1-7, we reflect on to whom we pray and remember the call to pray boldly for the sake of the kin-dom on earth as it is in heaven.

This week, Pastor Joe talks with his dear friend, Rev. Shalom Agtarap, pastor of Tacoma First United Methodist, to talk about building strong foundations and relationships in the community as doing ministry in the ways of anti-racism and decolonization. 

In the first sermon of our newest series, Autumn Reflections, Pastor Joe draws from 1 Timothy 1:12-17 as we explore how the stories we tell of our past shape and inform the ways we move into the future. 

On this week's episode, Pastor Joe sits down with his good friend, Rev. Chelsea Simon, Associate Pastor of San Dieguito United Methodist Church in Encinitas, CA. On this week's episode of Bothell Amplified, we celebrate World Communion Sunday and welcome Dr. Carmen Scheuerman, Dean of Wesley Divinity School in the Philippines. Drawing from John 6:1-14, Dr. Carmen (along with her farm friends!) invites us and challenges us to experience the abundance of God's blessings and be open to sharing with others. 

This week, Pastor Joe sits down with Rev. Cody Stauffer who shares his experience of caring for his mother who came down with COVID. Cody shares how this experience shaped the way he understands caring for others and allowing others to care for you.
