In this episode of Bothell Amplified, we conclude our Gathering Series as Pastor Joe shares in our roles of partnering along side God as we dream towards loving communities. Drawing from Isaiah 65:17 - 25, we hope to continue to lean into what God is actively trying to do as we return to gatherings and the joys that can be found on the journey. 

This week, Pastor Joe is joined by his spouse, Joann Kim. Together, they talk about parenting, transitions, the Korean harvest festival Chuseok and how faith informs their identity. 

In this episode of Bothell Amplified, we continue our Gathering Series as Pastor Joe looks into how we posture ourselves to be outward facing, as opposed to being self-centered in our faith. With gatherings returning both in person and online, we draw from Isaiah 58: 6-14 as we continue to listen as God calls us back into our communities.

Joe shares in some of the joys, highlights and blessings, and the areas for growth as they curate worshipful experiences that connect people to God and to one another.

This week, Pastor Joe launches our new sermon series titled Gathering as Bothell United Methodist Church begins to live into the next era of life together, worshipping both virtually and in-person. Drawing from Isaiah 56:1-8, we wrestle together with the idea of gathering, asking who is included and who isn't in God's gathered people? 

Today, Pastor Joe openly shares some thoughts around Bothell United Methodist Church's decision to begin living into a new era in the life of their community by gathering for worship both virtually and in-person on September 5th. He shares in some of the considerations, the challenges, and the ongoing dilemmas, while also sharing about some of the ways Bothell is working to keep the community safe.

On today's episode, we wrap up our August Compassion Series, focusing on Compassion as Transformation! With all that is happening around us in the world, it's hard to love one another, and yet, the prophet Isaiah reminds us that God is doing something new, and we are invited to walk alongside all that God is already doing! 

This week, Bothell Amplified is joined by Sharon Ryder as she preaches us through the next part of our Compassion Series. Sharon discusses the feelings of compassion that overcome us  when we see others suffering and also the feelings of motivation to relieve suffering as Christs in our communities. 

Today, Pastor Joe talks with Nicole Dibble, Director of Children's Ministry of Bothell United Methodist Church! Together, they share about this year's experience of Vacation Bible School being a hybrid model of both in-person and virtual, and they look ahead to what gathering in worship might look like as Bothell UMC prepares to enter the next phase of their life together, gathered both virtually and in-person!
