What starts with a deliberately cruel candy encounter brings up a pattern of exclusion, an upsetting comment about her daughter's body, and Julie's struggle to figure out where compassion ends and drawing a firm boundary begins. Along the way, she admits her own kid isn't perfect, questions whether she and her husband need more sanitized "parenting personalities," and takes a detour into parents who casually mention their second property but never ask you a single question back.

It's an honest, sweary episode about protective parent rage, childhood mean behaviour, and trying to help your kid without letting your own anger take over. Julie has plenty of feelings. A perfectly gracious response? Still working on that.
