You are in for a treat. We visited Domaine Berrien Cellars and talked to not one, but THREE wine makers. The team was in the middle of the crush and invited us along to watch. In this episode, we'll dive deep into what a Rhone Ranger is, understand what makes Michigan wine so different and walk through a bunch of varietals you might want to check out. Thank you to Wally, Tyler and Jake for spending time with us.
Did you know that Michigan has more to its wines than sweet, fruity versions? Did you know that the wines of Michigan are so similar to European style wines, that they could give them a run for their money? Did you also know that Lake Michigan College is the only program of its sort - in the entire state of Michigan? Join us as we talk to Michael Moyer, a West Coast transplant who is bullish about Michigan wines. Listen in as we go on location to LMCs newest building and learn a thing or two about Southwest Michigan...and why it should be a destination on your wine map.
The space we visited is OPEN. The Lake Michigan College Welch Center for Wine & Viticulture is at 2774 E. Empire Avenue, Benton Harbor, MI 49022
If you've eaten a meal in a Chicago restaurant, you've most likely seen Steve Dolinsky's black and white glossy photo. Steve is also known as The Hungry Hound, discovering eateries around Chicagoland since 2003. Steve's been in the media business for decades. Hailing from Minnesota, he has a knack for picking out the undiscovered local Mom and Pops, while providing reviews on the top Michelin spots around. We talked to Steve about his career, his favorite beverage picks and his most recent undertaking - pizza.
