Smash--gone too soon or not soon enough? Either way, it introduced a lot of us to Joe Iconis, who has a couple of songs featured in its show-within-a-show, along with our good friends Pasek and Paul (they're not actually our friends, we can only dream).
We recorded this before the Broadway cast recording came out, so all the tracks you'll hear are from the original New Jersey recording, but you can listen to both now and let us know which one you like better over on Twitter @BottomlessBway or email us at [email protected].

Warner Bros. is just another movie studio trying to find their hit Broadway show, though they've been trying for a while.

"Whaddya Do" when you see Broadway’s newest cross-dressing comedy, Tootsie? You spend your subway ride home listening to our review of it, of course! You heard it here first, or you just heard a lot of Santino fangirling but either way we have all the details.

Christine couldn’t remember the name of the orchestrator when talking about instrumentation, but shoutout to Simon Hale for providing that grand golden-age sound! Also mistakenly omitted: praise for “I Won’t Let You Down” and how it’s smartly reprised in “I Like What She’s Doing,” which you can hear a snippet of in new show clips from Broadway.com, hot off the presses today!
Say what you want about Michael Riedel and the New York Post, but he wrote a nice little article on how Tootsie the Musical started out (and we’re glad they managed to find the creative team that they did!)
We weren’t familiar with the original movie before, but if you ask actors, it’s the best movie of all time.
Curious about Crazy Ex-Girlfriend? You can watch all four seasons now on Netflix! Or, check out all the music videos on Youtube including Santino in “I Could If I Wanted To.”
No cast recording yet, but rest assured that there’s one on the way from Decca Broadway! Meanwhile, enjoy these two videos from BroadwayCon:
