The final episode is here. All things, both good and bad, must come to an end. The endless night has arrived. Me, you, everyone and everything, will have to take the big sleep eventually, and for the podcast, that time has come. I hope you enjoyed it like I have.
This boulder has reached the top of the hill, and must now roll back down to where it began.
Always, and forever, Bound to Hell.
Is your life perfect? Is everything going well? Stop lying. Face your demons. Look them in the eyes. See them. Welcome them. Those demons are the only chance to freedom you have. The suburban family lives in the depths of hell because they refuse to face their demons. Go to summer camp. Expel the demons. Take a ride in a Lincoln. Send self-portraits to strangers. Get bullied. Plot revenge. See the demons. Free them. Go to the gas station. Collect money. Confess your sins. Face your demons. Free yourself.
Do you want to stay in your comfort zone and go to a rooftop bar in Manhattan, or do you want to be among the rats below the sidewalk and meet death, desire, and pain? I know my preference. Talk to a veteran about the atrocities of war. Go to a pool bar and watch Billy get banned again. Consider smoking crack in an abandoned military bunker. There’s so much more out there. Storm the Capitol, yell at congressmen, get banned on twitter. The only limits you have are the ones you create. Sponsored by RoofFeed “Beggars can’t be choosers!”
Michael and I recorded this episode on a 5 hour drive to Boise to celebrate Christmas. The entire episode is centered around the consumption of Egg Nog (a beverage that doesn't control our lives in any way). We discuss travel experiences, drinking eggnog, successful parenting, reasons to live, self help, and other fun topics. Tell your people that you love them this holiday season. All of us could use some love.
The first ever special guest is my mother. This journey of motherly advice goes off the rails. Mushrooms, predators in the jungle, picky organ donors, boundaries, division, generalizations, all sorts of terrible things.
My mom thinks I'm a sociopath. I run from the law due to a fraudulent yelp review. I apply for a writing position at a comedic news source. A friend gets extorted. I enter the vortex.
This is just a test run to see how it goes. I'm nervous. I say "ya know" over a thousand times. I went to a sober rave. I'm not losing my hair. I have questionable product placements. It can only get better from here.
