Bounty Board

In business there is a question that leaders are starting to ask: Are you playing the finite game? Or are you playing the infinite game? Are you competing against your competition or are you competing against yourself? This week on Bounty Board Caleb and Eric are joined by streamer Avel as we tackle this question as it pertains to our industry. What kind of game is Microsoft playing? What about Playstation? Has Nintendo been playing the infinite game all along?

This episode is special. Our guest @Avelaitixa is a delight and the conversation is genuine and inspired. There a lot of things that come up in the discussion of where one’s goals lie, but here in this podcast, we strive to answer just one question: Why? Check out this video from speaker and author Simon Sinek to see our inspiration. And thank you so much to our guest @Avelaitixa for coming on the show and absolutely crushing it.

How good or bad are you when you play a game? Do you step into the role of hero, savior, saint of the people, doing everything you can to be good? Or are you a monster, taking life at every chance, leaving a swath of destruction in your wake? Do you play as if the character is you, or do you roleplay the character in the game?

This week on Bounty Board, Caleb and Eric are joined by another special guest: Benjamin Sawyer. Together they debate the use of morality in games, speak to their own playstyles, and break down times when morality worked for them and times that it didn’t. How do they play Arthur Morgan, protagonist (question mark?) of Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2? Is he a Criminal with a heart of gold, or a ruthless outlaw? This ain’t no place for no heroes.

Distinguished ladies and esteemed gentleman, this week on Bounty Board we have the profound honor of introducing our dear friend, The Allfather himself, Odin Æsir. Yes his REAL name is Odin.

On this very special episode of Bounty Board, Odin joins Caleb and Eric to talk about how much Red Dead has taken control of their lives, the 5 (15?) sequels to Avatar that James Cameron has planned (titled?), an underwhelming BlizzCon, and finally the future of games. The last topic in particular being of extreme interest to our guest, we dive into VR, AR, 4D experiences, the likelihood of the Ready Player One future, and SO MUCH MORE! Odin even gives us advice on how to summon him in times of need. Tune in y’all! It’s a good one!

No News this week!

Do games take themselves too seriously? I mean, think about it, when was the last time you laughed in a game? When was the last time you played a game that was consistently funny? It’s a little hard to think of one outside of Borderlands and Portal 2, right? Maybe our favorite medium needs to ease up on the grim gravy and dole out a little silly sauce. Yes…I just said that…

Join Caleb and Eric as they discuss this weeks topic, and try their hardest to be the most serious boys around!
