He is the first person in the United States to have been on death row and exonerated with DNA. Kirk Bloodsworth later became an advocate for victims of rape and helped to abolish the death penalty in Massachusetts. He was also convicted for the murder of Arthur Wilson on September 17th, 1983. Both of these convictions are discussed in this episode.
