A nest of tables allows you to quickly adjust your storage needs on a whim. Pop out an extra table to hold another bowl of snacks and disappear it just as easily … I fell in love with this little nest of tables. i knew the Hamptons look was the way to go. Inspired by the architecture and decorating of holiday homes and buildings in luxury seaside communities. The fundamental element to Hamptons style is white, white and more white. With other key decorative elements and accent colour and texture where it counts.

Just like old music, movies and books coming back into style in the 21st century, we have seen many fashion trends in the ’60s, ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s coming back in trend in the 21st century. As tastes change and generations draw inspiration from previous decades, it’s no surprise that some of our current trends are a mixed bag of past decade’s trends. The best part is that you do not have to buy these items new, you can rent them, look through your mother’s wardrobe or find them in thrift stores. Below, we explore the top most classic trends that have made a comeback.

A mood board (or inspiration board) is a physical or digital collage of ideas, images, materials, text, and other design elements into a format that’s representative of the final design’s style. They are commonly used in fields like interior design, fashion, and graphic design. Finding inspiration for design projects is one thing, organising it and turning that inspiration into a more cohesive base for creating a design is an entirely different beast.

You don’t need loads of particular tools for interior wall framing but having a circular or miter saw and a framing nail gun will save a lot of time and make the job easier. We were particularly fortunate as our Grandson Caleb is a framer and as I mentioned in previous posts he came with a short time frame to help but had a wealth of knowledge and all the tools we required. One of the biggest costs for Owner Builders is tooling up for the job. You can hire these tools and I do suggest if you are going to use professional tools especially a nailing gun get some training first, they are seriously scary!

This project of bringing our Ridged Inflatable Boat (RIB) back to life from one step into the grave (or maybe many steps in) was and is a proud moment in our conviction to live as eco as possible. These RIB’s are becoming a landfill all over the world as boaties just throw them away when they start leaking. They are cheap to replace so it is easier to purchase than repair. Sure it took time and a few $$$ to repair but she served us for many years after.
