Tonight I speak with Shan Mandrayar. Shan is an active duty Marine stationed in Virginia. He is a die hard traditional bow hunter and quite a successful one at that. We talk about his history growing up hunting in southern California, his move east after joining the military, what hunting is like in the Virginia/DC area, incorporating hunting time into military service, equipment, hunting methods, gear and a whole lot more. You can find Shan on Instagram under the handle Military_Bowhunter and on his Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqRiLHXfgEbwRcRsR3Xgj4w

Greg is a bow hunter to the core. He's taken many animals with a compound bow as well as traditional equipment, which is his current passion, as least as far as the pure chase of the hunt is concerned. He lives in New York state and has plenty of opportunities every year to fill not only his freezer but those of others as well. He even dabbles in shooting an atlatl, though he's yet to hunt with one. That's a good thing, because he needs to leave some deer for the rest of us!. We went all over the map on this episode. Greg is an easy guy to talk to and it felt like talking to a hunting buddy across from a campfire. Hope you enjoy!

Today I talk with Schafer Magnant. Born and raised in Vermont, Shafer was shooting a traditional bow pretty much from the time he could walk. After all, he WAS named after the great Paul Schafer, so you know he'd be destined to sling some arrows! We have a great talk discussing just about everything under the sun. Growing up shooting a traditional bow, hunting in Vermont, shooting styles, hunting gear, and a ton of other stuff. This one went over 2 hours because Schafer is super passionate and easy to talk to. We could have BS'd for hours. He also hosts the "Green Mountain Tradcast", so be sure to check out his show and show him some love. Hope you enjoy! This episode I talk with traditional bowhunter and Minnesota DNR Conservation Officer Nate Benkosfke. Nate and I met through mutual friends a a 3D shoot this past spring. We discuss lots of topics, ranging from his job, to laws to shooting traditional bows. A sad note to this episode is the recent passing of bowyer Chad Holm of Holm Made Traditional bows. Nate and Chad were close, and his passing was sudden an unexpected. This episode is dedicated to Chad. Thanks for listening.

We dove into just about everything you could think of. Florida, hogs, deer, business, enrepreneurship, anti-hunters, self-sufficiency and about a hundred other tangents. Mark and his wife make custom quivers, tabs, string trackers and a host of other quality leather goods. Truly a craftsman who enjoys life to the fullest. Hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did. This week I chat with Ali Juten. Ali lives waaay up in northern Minnesota. She is a hunter, fisher, outdoor enthusiast and new mother. We only had a short lunch break to talk, but we cover a lot of topics. I first started following her on Instagram (@ali_upnorth) and I was interested in learning about her family heritage growing up hunting the family farm, her outdoor activities, juggling life, work, hunting and being a new parent. She's about as genuine as it gets and I'm glad we got a chance to get to know each other. Hope you enjoy the episode! Please remember to like, share and subscribe and PLEASE leave a rating!
