I had planned to do my weekly installment of the Bowne Report newscast four days ago. And then, Los Angeles erupted into chaotic looting and antifa staging as riots broke out following ICE raids. And like many Americans I have just been taking it all in. Which, per usual, outside of local Los Angeles news, national mainstream media was incapable of doing. I want to thank the KTLA 5 and ABC7 as well as Agenda-Free TV, AXS News, and others who gave us an inside look as the big salaried tv twinkies took their Country Club realities. And while these people continued to detach themselves from the rest of us, the situation began intensifying after Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum called for protests across the United States. Raising eyebrows as to whether her words are an act of war.
Imagine the carnage if American citizens were in the heart of Mexico City. Burning the Mexican flag and waving an American Betsy Ross Flag as they torched Mexican police vehicles and demanded their rights as illegal citizens. The response would be brutal. The response in Los Angeles has been a slow burn.
The unrest, centered in downtown Los Angeles, saw protesters facing off with police on the 101 Freeway, temporarily shutting down traffic before it was reopened. Amid the turmoil, multiple Waymo self driving cars were vandalized and set ablaze, each one of them costing upwards of $300,000.
2000 National Guard were activated under Donald Trump. These troops, primarily from the California National Guard, were federalized under a presidential memorandum to support ICE operations and protect federal personnel and property, particularly around the Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown Los Angeles. The Department of Defense activated 500 Marines to prepare for deployment to protect civilians and law enforcement from violent rioters, while DHS Blackhawk helicopters reportedly hovered overhead. President Trump ordered DHS and the National Guard to “take any action necessary to liberate Los Angeles from illegals,” vowing to restore order and expel undocumented individuals. Many Americans agreed with him, regardless of what the pundits and politicians were selling.
Representative Maxine Waters attempted to enter the Los Angeles Federal Building, citing “congressional authority,” and controversially demanded citizenship for illegal rioters, fueling the ongoing accusations of an obvious Democratic plot to import voters.
Back in D.C., the situation escalated politically as Senator Eric Schmitt responded to the Mexican President's call with a bold legislative proposal, stating, “I’m introducing legislation to quadruple the proposed remittance tax, from 3.5% to 15%. America is not the world’s piggy bank. And we don’t take kindly to threats.” This 15% tax on remittances to Mexico, intended to deter illegal immigration, could completely devastate Mexico’s economy, which relies heavily on the $64.7 billion sent by migrants in 2024.
The riots took a treasonous turn with rioters waving Mexican flags while burning the American Flag, while a man screamed “Allah Akbar” at National Guard troops. As if America had been conquered by Biden’s 20 million plus swarm of illegals. As legal battles ramp up over the legality of Trump’s long reach into California’s Sanctuary City non compliance to U.S. law.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris expressed being “appalled” by ICE operations, claiming demonstrations were “overwhelmingly peaceful,” a narrative contradicted by reports of Antifa using hammers to break sidewalks for projectiles against police. Governor Gavin Newsom labeled Trump’s troop deployment “deranged,” while the Los Angeles Police Department originally insisted the protests were “peaceful” and “without incident.” And then LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell admitted “We are overwhelmed … There is no limit to what they are doing to our officers.” The stark divide in rhetoric and the deployment of NG, DHS, SEALs, and Marines underscored a deepening national crisis, with the city teetering on the edge of an alleged “illegal alien/communist insurrection.” This isn’t just some Gen Z Che Guevera fever dream. This is being managed by foreign interests in Europe and China.
And so it is with utmost urgency that the Trump Administration stop ignoring the root of this nationwide insurrection and national emergency. Arresting the spawn of Marxist mental illness will only be temporary. Start tearing at this from the deepest root before it spirals into the deaths of hundreds if not thousands of innocent Americans and billions in property damage.
By Monday June 9, 2025. The Local Los Angeles Police presence looked like a scene out of a Terminator movie as opposed to the backing down they had been faced with in prior days. Now with total backup. Police established perimeters. Then calmly and methodically loaded up buses with suspected illegals. Then slowly pushed the remaining crowd back with batons. While the crowd lobbed fireworks at police. police eventually responded with tear gas.
The units primarily involved in dispersing crowds during the immigration protests were the Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and California Highway Patrol . The LAPD declared unlawful assemblies in downtown areas, including near the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building and the Metropolitan Detention Center, and used less lethal munitions such as tear gas, flash bang grenades, rubber bullets, and 37mm foam baton rounds to disperse protesters. The LASD and CHP assisted with crowd control and traffic management, with CHP notably clearing protesters from the 101 Freeway using flash bang grenades.
Earlier that day 2000 more National Guard had been activated. While the other 2,000 California National Guard troops from the 79th Infantry Brigade Combat Team were deployed under Task Force 51 to secure federal buildings like the Metropolitan Detention Center, they did not directly engage in crowd dispersal, focusing instead on maintaining perimeters. Additionally, 700 Marines from the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, were on prepare to deploy status but were not reported to have dispersed crowds. Social media posts and news reports confirm that the Los Angeles Police Department, Sheriff's Department, and Highway Patrol were the primary units actively dispersing the crowds.
On a side note, journalists faced aggressive actions from the Los Angeles Police Department, Lauren Tomasi of Nine News was hit by a rubber bullet on June 8 near the Metropolitan Detention Center, and World Socialist Web Site reporters were injured, one by a U.S. immigration officer’s rubber bullet, though not arrested.
Also reports of Journalists being kettled and threatened with arrest during mass arrests, but these lack official confirmation. The LAPD, declaring unlawful assemblies in downtown areas, arrested at least 39 people for actions like vandalism, with no clear indication journalists were among them.
Except for of course, a CNN journalist, Jason Carroll, who was briefly detained by the Los Angeles Police Department on June 9, 2025. During a live broadcast, Carroll was detained and questioned by police, who escorted him away with his hands behind his back. An officer informed him, “We’re letting you go. You can’t come back. If you come back, you will be arrested.” The detention was short, and he was released with a warning not to return to the protest area.
It has become abundantly clear that nothing will be done to the Soros family. America has cried out for their banishment for years and the federal government replies by awarding Soros the Presidential Medal of Freedom. George, Andrea, Alex, and Jonathan are dug in deep. As is Barack Obama. A President Eisenhower or Teddy Roosevelt would have already stuck all of these people under the jail. But something stinks like blackmail or worse. So, then go after those that lead to the main root. Please listen to me.
CHIRLA, or Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles a key organizer, received $34 million of its $45 million 2023 revenue from government grants, mostly from California, with $450,000 from federal grants for “citizenship education.” Its funding also includes private sources like the Sixteen Thirty Fund, Tides Foundation, and MacKenzie Scott’s Yield Giving, though numbers of direct riot funding remain unverified.
PSL, linked to the ANSWER Coalition, is allegedly funded by billionaire Neville Singham, who has funneled over $20 million into far left groups, including those tied to Columbia University protests. Singham’s ties to Chinese Communist Party propaganda raise concerns. Currently based in Shanghai, Singham shares an office with the Maku Group, a Chinese media company, and has been linked to a network of nonprofits and shell companies allegedly used to channel funds, estimated at $275 million, to pro-China causes. He has also supported anti NATO efforts and groups like The People’s Forum, which organized pro-Palestine protests. And the Million Voters Project, amplifying the protests, is privately funded by grants. Start there.
The riots spread to San Francisco and New York City, where anti ICE protests escalated after Antifa’s “call to arms”. This insurrection of the United States that followed the invasion of the United States by swarms of foreign military aged males has the potential to spiral out of control over the Summer of 2025, making the George Floyd summer of Love look like a preview. As underfunded blue City Police Departments are tested and exhausted and sleeper cells of various anti American ideologies within the United States are activated. The Insurrection Act of 1807 was created for this moment. But it will take strong action and clarity to see it through.
CBDCs Are Sliding In Under The Cover Of Darkness
And as America is yet again distracted, Central Bank Digital Currency quietly advance in trials globally, including in the U.S., with potential implications for financial privacy and control. Mainstream outlets like Bloomberg or Reuters have covered CBDCs sporadically, but specifics about recent U.S. pilots or their progress are often absent from major headlines, possibly due to their technical nature, but the Federal Reserve’s ongoing research into digital currencies warrants monitoring. With 44 countries actively testing CBDCs, up from 36 in 2023, according to the Atlantic Council, 134 countries and currency unions, representing 98% of global GDP, are exploring CBDCs. Of these, 66 are in advanced stages (near launch), with 44 countries running active pilot programs.
Only three countries have fully launched retail CBDCs: the Bahamas (Sand Dollar), Jamaica (JamDex), and Nigeria (e-Naira). The Eastern Caribbean Currency Union’s DCash was launched but paused in 2024 due to technical issues.
What’s the big deal with a CBDC. Picture a digital dollar, not as a shiny new tool for convenience, but as a leash, slowly tightening, unyielding, and tracked in real-time. Unlike cash, which you can spend anonymously, a CBDC lives on a centralized ledger, every move recorded, every purchase scrutinized. Governments could freeze your account with a keystroke, not because you broke a law, but because you said something they didn’t like on X or protested a policy they’re pushing. China’s digital yuan is already there and its horrifying. Imagine a social credit system here, where your digital wallet gets locked for wrongthink, or your funds are funneled only to corporations aligned with the state’s agenda.
The Federal Reserve’s own Project Hamilton and the New York Fed’s experiments show they’re testing this tech, and while they claim it’s about efficiency, the potential for surveillance is undeniable. Once physical money is gone, there is no escape, you’re a tenant in their digital cage, freedom traded for a QR code.
Are You On The Palantir Master List?
And the architects of that digital cage, Palantir, the shadowy data-mining giant, building what’s being called a “master list” of personal info on every American. According to reports from the New York Times, Trump’s March 2025 executive order pushed federal agencies to share data, and Palantir’s Foundry platform is the tech backbone, slurping up everything from DHS to Health and Human Services. This isn’t just about tracking illegal immigrants, though that is a major step forward, it’s about creating a surveillance juggernaut that could map out your life, from your tax returns to your travel history. With Palantir’s stock soaring over 200% since Trump’s election, and their CEO Alex Karp cozying up to the administration.
Founded by Peter Thiel, he has been quietly embedding Palantir into the federal machine for years, raking in over $113 million in contracts since Trump took office, including a massive $795 million Pentagon deal. Their tech, already used by ICE for deportations and by the Israel Defense Forces for targeting in Gaza, is a data hoovering beast that can stitch together “detailed portraits” of anyone.
Palantir’s response? Their execs claim they’re just making the world “better,” but that rings hollow when you consider their track record—think “predictive policing” in LA or drone strikes in the Middle East. The scariest part? This master list could give the government unprecedented power to snoop, track, and control, all under the radar while Trump stays mum. The question isn’t just what they’re collecting—it’s what they’ll do with it. Stay woke, because Big Brother’s got a new toy, and it’s called Palantir.
Rhode Island Bans Assault Weapons
And while America was distracted, Rhode Island’s House of Representatives passed H5436, the Assault Weapons Ban Act of 2025, on June 5, 2025, with a 43-28 vote after nearly five hours of heated debate. This legislation, sponsored by Rep. Jason Knight and Sen. Louis P. DiPalma, aimed to ban the sale, manufacture, and transfer of certain semiautomatic firearms, labeled “assault weapons” for their military-style features starting July 1, 2026.
Current owners can keep their weapons if registered, but violators face up to 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines. The Rhode Island Revolver and Rifle Association, slam it as a Second Amendment violation, claiming it targets law abiding citizens while criminals ignore laws.
Rhode Island joins ten states, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Washington, and Washington, D.C., which already have assault weapon bans, with neighbors Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York setting regional precedent.
The legislation now heads to the Rhode Island Senate, where its companion bill, S0359, awaits a floor vote after a contentious seven and a half hour Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on May 14, 2025. If passed, Governor McKee has vowed to sign it, making Rhode Island the eleventh state to enact such a ban. However, gun rights groups are mobilizing for the 2026 Democratic primary to challenge McKee, and legal battles loom, with critics citing potential conflicts with Second Amendment rulings like New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen (2022). Good luck protecting yourself from the something wicked this way comes.
